There are a number of companies in India, many of them are well established and gain high revenues. But, only a few are brands which have been so credible among customers that sometimes the commodity itself is identified by the name of the company. One such rare name in Business is Aditya Birla group. From fashion to cement, from textile to telecom, ABG has proved its mettle time and again. In each of the industry where it has made an entry, it has stayed and stayed in style. Today, it is the largest producer of Cement in India, and the largest producer of carbon black in the world.
I, however, have a lot deeper association due to its two immensely popular and widely spread brands. First is the cement. ABD has, in a way, revolutionized the construction industry. Since I have spent a significant time of my life in hilly areas, I can very well understand the importance of concrete houses, bridges and roads in the life of people who live in remote areas and who had been in no contact of the big towns and cities for the longest long time.
Second most important ABG product that holds high value for me is the Idea cellular network. In the cities there is availability of several network choices, but in high altitude villages, not all the telecom providers cater. Idea is the only service provider in many such areas. Even in my paternal village in Almora District, till date no other telecom provider has consistent service. Without a doubt, Aditya Birla Group has touched millions of lives and out of those millions I am one of its proud customers and an admirer for life.
