Aditya Birla Group has always been big in my life. Being one of the largest and oldest Indian multinational conglomerates I hardly think any day has passed in my life without using an ABG product or a product that has ABG’s products used in their manufacturing. The first memory I have of an ABG product is of having my school lunch food packed in freshwrapp. Eating food with its freshness
preserved in a freshwrapp was a delight back in school days.

During my time in school and in college, pantaloons was a brand of choice for me for buying clothes. Pantaloons has always been a store of choice for me because of its value for money products, good offers and large variety of products and brands.

Nearing the end of my graduation, searching for the right apparels for my interviews and my internship led me to brands like Louis Philippe, Van Huesen and Peter England, all part of the ABG group. The formal apparel that I purchased from these brands were an important support in my work providing me with the comfort and formal look very essential in a professional work place.

A lot of ABG products are also an important part of our lives, even though they might not be in a very visible form. Products like Ultratech cement forms a part of the concrete that a lot of our infrastructure is built on. From our flats and shopping malls to critical infrastructure like dams and bridges are built using cement and other products which use ABG products as inputs.

At the core of ABG are people who drive to make an impact irrespective of the challenges they face. The challenge that I faced was that during my years in school I was a very introverted kid who was very much involved in academics and did not take part in a lot of activities and events. I always had a very deep interest and desire to be more involved in events and join students groups that were involved in organising and managing the events but I was unable to do so.

After joining my graduation my resolve and desire to be more extrovert became stronger and I slowly started coming out of my shell. I was talking to more people than before and interacting with a wider group of people. I started coordinating and working with different groups in a variety of projects, firstly in smaller roles and eventually taking on bigger roles.

During the initial stages of my development, the most daunting task was to take the first step. Overcoming fear and approaching people and groups and applying for teams took courage and a strong will to be better.

As my college journey moved on, I started applying for various clubs and got into the selection processes. During this journey, with each small step out of my comfort zone, I slowly become more and more comfortable with conversations and was able to be a part of events and groups.

Towards the end of my B.Tech. journey, I was able to get into the core committee of the annual cultural fest and was able to manage and run the entire event in a team of 8 people. This is how I overcame this challenge and achieved my goal.
