Aditya Birla Group, being a US $44.3 billion corporation, is in the league of Fortune 500 and is active in 14 industry sectors achieving global and national leadership in several businesses.

Though I never realized this, but Aditya Birla Group has been omnipresent throughout my life. Aditya Birla Group has made a huge impact in our lives because of their presence in multiple sectors like Telecom, Financial Services, Fashion and Retail segment and much more. I still remember when I bought my first Van Heusen plain T-shirt and fell in love with the brand. My sister on the other hand, still carefully go through all of Pantaloons products to pick what she likes. My mom would use Freshwrapp to pack my lunch for school. When I went for my under graduation in NIT Hamirpur, my original mobile sim network would fail because of connectivity issues in hilly areas. That was when I went for Idea, which worked just fine throughout my under graduation. We bought all those products without knowing that Aditya Birla Group has established all these products and services. I am still learning how much ABG has impacted my life and still impacts my daily life too. From getting ready for MBA sessions in LP shirts to attending lectures in buildings which would’ve used UltraTech cement in their construction. There seems to be no facet in my life that ABG has not touched. And this was just about me. When I start thinking about how many lives around the globe were and are being impacted in a huge way by Aditya Birla Group, I find more and more meaning in tagline of ABG. ABG is and will continue to be “BIG IN OUR LIVES”.

I come from a very humble and educated background. My parents have provided everything I could’ve asked for. Only thing they ask of me is to make something of this opportunity and in turn, touch and improve lives I come across. The challenges I’ve faced have been of my own making. One of the biggest challenges I have faced has been to stay ambitious and don’t give up on my dreams. I had been one of the best students across my school years and when I went to college, I wanted to explore new areas. NIT Hamirpur provided me with new opportunities I didn’t have in my town. In doing so, I ignored my academics, missed a lot of lectures and couldn’t perform as well as I could’ve. The situation was so grave that I had 15 supplementary exams at a single time. I couldn’t apply for campus placements. Also, many of my friends gave up on their dreams and went on to settle for much less than they once aspired for. This according to me was one of the most challenging periods of my life, where I felt weak and incompetent, something I had never felt throughout my school years. I knew that I wanted to do MBA, but I didn’t feel like I would get into any premium MBA college because of my undergrad CGPA. But I didn’t want to give up after this setback. I knew I had the potential to perform well in CAT and the qualities to become a good manager. My mother pushed me to give my best in CAT and my friends who had gotten placed in different companies and were living in different cities, helped me throughout my preparations in any way possible. After scoring 99.45 percentile in CAT and missing out on a lot of interview calls due to my low CGPA, I was still unsure of my chances. But MDI Gurgaon gave me the opportunity to follow my ambitions and to rectify the mistakes I had made in my under graduation. I am very excited and hopeful about this new path I’ve set onto.
