I still remember the day when as a kid, I was playing in our newly constructed house. There was a room full of Ultratech cement. Cement was introduced to me as Ultratech. For me, Ultratech was synonymous to cement. As I grew up, I realized that all major roads, flyovers and high-rise towers in my city are constructed using Ultratech cement. I am glad that my city is built with the best in class cement. Ultratech cement has played a major role in not only building my home or city but the entire nation.
During my college days in Hyderabad, my entire shopping was from People Fashion. Multiple brands under one roof with variety to choose from – this is all I wanted. From buying groceries in the More supermarket to buying garments in People fashion, ABG has given me all that I wanted. ABG as a group has truly become a part of the lives of all Indians. It has always delighted us and reflects our lives. From giving the toughest fight in telecom to excelling in the financial sector, it teaches us a lot in life. Hence, ABG has truly inspired me and I always look up to it. It has touched many aspects of my life.
Now as an MBA student I admire how ABG has achieved extensive reach across length and breadth of our country. It has transformed the nation by delighting its customers. This is why I consider Aditya Birla Group to be big in my life.
My story of overcoming challenges
Challenges are something, everyone, face in life. No one is an exception to this. But as the famous dialogue goes ‘haar kar jeetne wale ko baazigar kehte hain’ is what matters at the end. Everyone is the hero of their life. It is up to us what we want to make out of it. I am no less. I had my share of challenges too. Belonging to the common Indian crowd of Engineer, I started my career after many rejections at the campus interview level. The rejection of one company never stopped me from attending the next. Slowly in front of me, I saw the crowd getting placed. After a long-lasted struggle of 4 months, I got placed in one of the leading IT firms. The first leaning of life, I learned never to give up. Now should I settle? I was not sure of this answer at that point in time. I took the offer. After taking up the job, typical Indian girl’s family answered the question themselves- Yes, it’s time to settle (not by taking a job and making a career but by marrying). My answer was different. I wanted to do my post-graduation. I wanted to complete MBA from a reputed institute. Is it a cakewalk? Never. With an IT job which required nine hours of effort, preparation for one of the tough exams like MBA entrance was a nightmare. But when you decide to follow your heart nothing can stop you. I joined weekend classes and managed work along with studies. Finally got a seat, uff!!! Yeppyyyyyy!!! The battle is done!!! Nope, not so easy. Life in an MBA is not an easy one, and many of us would be having the same feeling. This is the phase of life which will groom us to achieve our dream jobs. Making it one of the most important and challenging parts. Hope like all the other challenges till now, I would be clearing this as well and be ready for the next level of challenges, as they say, life is roller coaster ride with ups and downs.
