Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life?

Aditya Birla Group has a presence spanning across various industries and hardly there would be anyone who has not heard of it. Be it Vodafone Idea LTD. or UltraTech Cement or Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. Aditya Birla have been impacting our lives in various ways. But for me Aditya Birla holds a special place. My childhood is full of memories of my father buying Peter England shirts and suiting fabrics by Grasim. Even now Allen Solly, Louis Phillipe and Van Heusen are his favourite brands because of the quality and variety they offer. I remember my teenage days when I used to visit Pantaloons along with my family to shop. I grew up watching the American sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S where one of the main character Rachel used to work for Ralph Lauren. I always wanted to be like her. Forever 21 played a major role in acing my fashion game. Then came my graduation days in NIFT. Being a B F tech from NIFT I used to dream about pursuing my summer internship and graduation project from ABFRL, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle as they are the market leaders. I visited one of their production units in Bangalore during our industry visit along with my classmates. The working environment and the in-depth knowledge of the employees wooed me. One thing I observed is that they never compromise with quality. Customer satisfaction is always their priority.  Although I could not bag an opportunity to work with Aditya Birla Group, I still hope to work with them in near future. It’s not just about apparels and fashion or telecom or FMCG, Aditya Birla Group is one of the largest organisation which is touching many lives for decades and expanding across 34 countries. This shows how dedicated they are to their tagline-Taking India to the World.

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?

Setting goals and achieving them have always been two important things. The latter always being the most difficult to achieve because I always keep struggling with the obstacles. Challenges are an inevitable part of our lives. During my 10th boards till half yearly examination I used to get just passing marks in mathematics. Because of CGPA structure the only way I could get good grades was to excel in my remaining examinations. I realised my mistakes and left no stones unturned to score good. The result was that I scored CGPA 10 and was the school topper. But that was not the end of my struggles. After my 12th I was confused which stream I should choose. On one side I always wanted to be an architect but on the other the tried and tested engineering. But as fate had it decided already, I ended up in NIFT. My days in NIFT was no less than a rollercoaster ride. First challenge was adjusting with people from different states and different culture. I was an introvert so it took a lot of time for me to keep up with the competitive environment there. Second challenge was to adjust with the curriculum and subjects we had there. Fashion technology as a stream is very different from designing. We studied everything from elements of technology to pattern making to garment construction. Each subject unique, different and new in its own way. So, balancing them was a big challenge. But I did it and got a job in a leading company of the industry. But due to some reasons I had to let go of the offer. After that I was really in a state of dilemma. Low morale, low self-confidence, self-doubt and the guilt of leaving a good offer was taking a toll on me. But with support of my parents and few close friends, I collected myself. I started my MBA preparation and ended up in XAHR. I know my MBA journey is not going to be a cakewalk, but I welcome every challenge in future with open arms, not only to shape myself for the best but also to become a better and stronger version of myself.
