Aditya Birla Group: Impact on my Life
Aditya Birla Group, the third-largest private Indian conglomerate, has a legacy of 162 years. After these many years, it can be easily said that ABG must have touched many lives. Be it telecommunications, finance, textile or cement. It has a reach in as many sectors to influence the lives of many countries.
Like others, it has touched my life too. It used to own the retail store chain called “MORE MEGASTORE”, previously known as “ADITYA BIRLA RETAIL LIMITED”. During my internship and major part of my job, it was the most convenient store that I could have asked for. Just at walking distance, I had everything that I needed. From a few small things to a whole list of accessories be it an electric gadget, food items, laptop table, anything, and everything was present there for us to purchase. Though it was later sold out it influenced my life a lot.
Not only the retail store, but it has a reach in the textile industry also. I remember as a kid, I and my family used to roam around different clothing stores to buy me affordable clothes, Pantaloons used to be one of the main stores of our journey. Now, when I have grown up, I see that it has also targeted us millennials through brands like Peter England, Louis Phillippe. While Peter England remained the source for my interview dress up and has been a part of my MBA life too. When the time of online shopping began, I was a little worried about brands like pantaloons but to my surprise, they managed quite well and made their online presence too by teaming up with some major e-commerce companies.
I still remember the day when I first bought my cell phone (not technically my cell phone but rather my whole family’s phone). My father took an Idea sim from his employer which they gave me for my extra classes. Those were the days when we used to recharge to get the plans for a message charge reduction (1 message/6 paisa). All that nostalgia seeks in while referring to those.
These are some of the instances about how ABG has been a big part of my life and I know it would have been a part of your life as well.
How I Overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life
Every day is a new canvas and as we paint our day to reach our ambition, we may encounter a few bumps or there may be times when we are lost and those are the times that define us.

A lesson I learnt in a hard way. In pursuit of my goals, I have encountered many challenges while facing the highs and lows and learnt that the way I saw those problems was the main problem. Many times I got nervous, anxious and whenever I saw the gap between me and my competitors, it broke my confidence to pieces. Sometimes, I lost my will to fight.
But it is a blessing that I am not alone in this, I’ve got support from my family and friends while I’ll carry them too. I realized my shortcomings and learnt that I needed to get over this psychological barrier that kept me away from achieving my goals and be my average self.
I had to accept the difference between the talents and accept my nervousness while believing that things might take a wrong turn but not always. During graduation, I saw the difference between my 100% and my competitors' 50%. It brought rage in me and made me frustrated but at a particular point of time, I chose to accept it. Accept my shortcomings and instead of giving 100% to start giving 200%.
That moment changed me and this is the bump that I encounter on my canvas and cross each and every time to paint my story.
