The seeds of the large Aditya Birla Group were sowed by Shiv Naryan Birla in Rajasthan
in the year 1857 when he started trading Cotton. From there the ABG now reaches to
7.5 million people across geographies. It is now spread in 34 countries. This group is
into 14 different sectors from cement to tyres to insulator to copper to fashion and
telecom to name a few.
I regular travel in the Indian Railway Service and I am also a frequent use of the
Bandra Worli sea link. My telecom carrier is also Vodafone.
But the part in which Aditya Birla Group is big is my wardrobe. Major parts of my
apparels are from different brands of ABG. Pantaloons and Peter England is where I buy
by casual and semi casual from and brands like Van Heusen and Allen Solly fulfill by
appetite for formal wear. While my aspirational brands are Hackett and Ralph Lauren
and hope to buy them in the future.
The textile division of ABG has deeper connection with me. Grasim, the leading
manufacturer of textile, my family was fortunate enough to be one the retailer of
Grasim suiting and shirting from the late 1990’s. We now also sell wide range of brands
like BIBA, W, Aurelia which use Liva fabrics. Therefore, ABG has played a huge role
business and personal life alike.
