My small family had a small dream to have a “House” they could call “Home”. House that was made brick by brick in front of his own eyes was my father’s desire. If it was up to him, he would have built every wall on his own, because nothing but only the best cuts the mark, so he trusted Ultratech cement and sat back as he saw our dream being shaped into a reality. He is no longer with us, but he resides in every brick of our home. Ultra tech cement gave my family their first permanent address and for that reason it will always be big in my life.
Apart from being many things, I also happen to be a shopping enthusiast, I remember having a near heaven experience as I entered my favorite international brand, Forever21, I wasn’t even 21 yet but everything that I bought from there resonated with my being, and what next? I was a convert for life! Aditya Birla Group has helped a shopaholic like me to get many high end fashion houses in India, and for that reason the self proclaimed diva in me can never be thankful enough.
B. How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far.
It was the year 2016, when I lost the strongest pillar of my life, my Papa. He wasn’t just a person that helped me take my first step but was the one that made me realize how every pebble that I tripped over in my way was a blessing in disguise. Without him, I felt lost. And just as I was out of the grief of what has happened I tripped over yet another pebble, “Rock” I should rather call it, I was diagnosed with Chronic depression and Anxiety. It was a blanket that kept me in bed all day, I had lost every trace of motivation. The only thing that even made me wake up in the morning was the thought of my mother and how much she needed me. Although it seemed impossible to lift even a finger, I had to keep moving forward. I kept making very small goals, and kept taking baby steps. There were days when I would end up falling in the same void and would feel like I was back to square one, but at my own pace, I kept moving. I worked very hard with whatever spirit I could gather and I ended up getting admission in a very good B-school. To be able to pursue my MBA dream was the cake and the smile on my mother’s face was the cherry on the top.
My take away: “Keep moving forward no matter the pace, because if you are not moving forward you are just staying still.”
