When I wondered how is Aditya Birla Group related to me I started observing around me. I found I’m wearing an Allen solly tee-shirt (ABG Group). “Oh wow” I exclaimed and continued a UPI transaction that I’m in the middle of and the transaction was successful and a green tick mark displayed on the Bhim app (again ABG group) while I was wondering about the coincidence it suddenly struck me that even the data through which I did the transaction is Idea network (again again…). Now I let my phone aside and was smiling about the coincidences and then there was a Van-Heusen suit hanging on the wall just before my line of sight. Again it is … I was saying to myself “Man this is it, It cant be anymor…” before I completed saying this I remembered that I’m a student of Birla college. Now my curiosity raised to a level that I just wanted to google and know all the products of ABG Group.
I saw several industries in which different brands are from the ABG Group. In between those brands, I found a brand by the name “Ultratech cement”. It suddenly reminded me of a conversation with my Dad 5 years ago. Then my Dad was building a home for us. He took a temporary break from his regular work to look after the construction. All the arrangements were made but the work is getting delayed because our local dealers didn’t have stock available for Ultratech cement. Then I asked him why are we wasting time when we can start the construction with some other brand cement as some of the other brands are also cheaper than Ultratech. Then he said “why do you think I took a sabbatical though everything is contract work? When we think of our home we should have thoughts filled with happiness, contentment, warmth, love and security. It's more than just four walls and a place to eat and sleep, but it's where relationships are developed and where some of our biggest life events happen. So I cannot risk or compromise on quality for such a big thing in my life. Ultratech is one of those products which I can feel assured of Quality. So never compromise on anything which you feel is important to you”. Then I realized this is how ABG is big in not only my life but every Indian’s life not just because of the diverse range of products but for the confidence it fills in us about the quality of the product.
In my professional life when I started my career with PwC, in the Second month itself I was in a situation where I had to give a presentation for Senior officers of the government (client). I rarely gave any presentations in my life prior to that. Now I had to do this in front of many senior officers, I was so scared and low on confidence that I was about to approach my manager to inform him that I will not be able to present. But then I felt if I drop this now out of fear then this will affect me throughout my life. So I accepted the challenge and prepared so relentlessly on the content and also given many mock presentations in front of the mirror. Finally, I was able to present in such a way that I got appreciation from all my colleagues and the manager. That developed a great sense of confidence in me for the rest of my life.
