All of us face challenges in our life. If someone’s life is charming and without chaos, then he must be a unicorn. But unicorns do not exist.
Like any other human being there have been many challenges in my life. Here I would like to elaborate on one such phase of my life. For me, family is like a palace. But when you see that palace getting demolished, you feel shattered. Same happened when the king of the palace, my grandfather, went on to conquer heaven, leaving us behind gloomy and clueless. The joint family, which I had seen throughout my life, broke into pieces. My father, being a very emotional and family oriented person, could not take this jolt. He went into severe depression. At that point of time, he was the sole earner of the family and seeing him suffering was the worst experience of my life. I and my sister, who is a doctor by profession, took up the challenge to lift the spirit of the person, whom you looked up to, for everything till now. I gave up my job offer at a reputed MNC, joined a small firm in my hometown, prioritizing the challenges, and took care of my father. The biggest challenge was to bury your own sorrow deep down inside and appear like the most joyous person in front of him. Taking him on drives, treks, meeting different people and doing things which made him happy was my priority. This changed the perspective of my life from a self-centered person to a human who is more sensitive about the feelings and desires of others. I learned to connect with people and realized the importance of friends and family in life. Now, instead of going for tangible and materialistic things, I try to earn people in my life. I try to earn their respect and love by connecting with them and befriending them.

Now, the most important aspect of my life, I dream of providing education, skill development training, and healthcare to the needy. My grandfather opened many schools in his life; some of them were taken over by the government. I want to take the legacy forward. I am inspired by the various social activities taken up by the Aditya Birla Group like providing education to more than 46,000 school children, treating over a million patients in various medical camps and hospitals and skill training for 95,000 people.
