  • How Aditya Birla Group is big in my life.

I come from a middle class family based in Indore. Today, when I go home and walk down the street, I feel very happy and proud to see the change that has followed in all the years that I have lived there.  My family moved to Indore in 1999 from a big city like Bangalore which was a thriving place back then. I was just 3 years old and I was used to an ease of living that Indore could not provide at that time. Initially, we lived in a rented house and the road in my colony was a rocky one with a lot of potholes, something that was very hard for me to accept as a child. I could not go out and play or ride a bicycle. My mother explained to me one day that I would always be faced with situations where things would be exactly opposite of what I would have expected.  She asked me to patient and adjust with my surroundings. I was convinced and started looking for alternatives to play inside the house itself. But one day, my father came up to me and told me that we were going to have our own house a little further from the rented house we were staying.  That day, I went to see the plot of our house and saw bags of Ultra Tech Cement lying on the road in front of the plot. The architect told us that the road was being cemented for the ease of the residents of the colony. He told us that the construction of our house would be done simultaneously.  He assured us that before we start living in the house the cemented road would be complete and the same quality cement would be used to construct our house as well.

Today after 20 years, I still remember the rocky road and the potholes that saddened me as a child and the reassuring bags of Ultra Tech cement that served as my source of happiness at that point in time.

  • How have I made an impact?

It all began in 2008, when our class was introduced to an exam called NTSE (National Talent Search Examination). It was one of the most prestigious exams in our school. The teacher who introduced the exam to us had a lasting impact on me. I decided to crack the exam no matter what. I had six months to prepare for the exam along with academics to manage. I had to make a choice and so I did. I had to make my mark in the exam. My parents told me that they could not send me to a coaching class and that I had to prepare on my own. I took it as a challenge and it drove me even further. I used to wake up at 3 am in the morning just to study for the exam and spend the other half of the day managing the school curriculum and NTSE preparation. My preparation was picking up pace every passing day and only a few days before the exam, I found out that my exam center was at Bhopal. Around the same time, my father’s health took a toll and he used to be sick most of the time. My mother’s major portion of the day went by taking care of him. Everyone at home was worried but I didn’t let the situation affect my exam preparation. But I was left with no one to take me to Bhopal. I told my father that I would go alone for the exam, and after a long discussion he agreed. He gave me his mobile phone to be in touch. Idea Cellular Network has been one of the leading service providers in Madhya Pradesh since a long time. The sole reason my father agreed was because he was sure to stay in touch with me anytime with a strong network hold like Idea’s.  On the day of the exam, he escorted me to the bus and gave his friend’s contact number to be in touch. I reached the exam center with utmost ease and came back safe and sound the same day. After two months, the results came in and I had secured a merit rank in the state and cracked the first level of the examination. All the efforts put in and all the obstacles in the way just made me stronger and my will to succeed strengthened all along.  I made my mark that I wished to, six months before the exam.

I will always be thankful to Aditya Birla Group whose products have been my rays of hope in situations of absolute helplessness. The two most important incidents of my life were shaped the way I wanted them to be because of their products.
