If I ever come across the word “Conglomerate”, one of the first names that comes to my mind is Aditya Birla Group. Involvement of a corporation that runs across 14 industry sectors of net worth $44.3 billion employing about 1.2L employees, in a normal person’s life is extremely unlikely. There are so many aspects of my day-to-day life which Aditya Birla Group.
Ultratech cement has always been “The Engineer’s Choice”. Being a Civil Engineer myself, I can vouch for the reliability of the brand as it promises. Ultratech’s products of grey and white cement has been used in constructing starting from my house, residential and commercial building and many other major infrastructure projects which also use Ready Mix Concrete. The strength and cohesion which Ultratech delivers not only binds the structure, it has brought people together.
Brands namely Peter England, Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly and Ralph Lauren have formed an integral part of my life. From daily clothing, party wears to the formals, Pantaloons has been the first-to-go outlet for me since many years.
Although I may not be the direct consumer of Birla Balwan, we all must accept that it has been one of the most trusted and popular fertilisers among farmers on whom we rely for our daily staple. Beginning right from the food production to their storage and hygiene in form of Superwrap and Freshwrap, Aditya Birla Group has been completely integrated with our lives. Vodafone was my first mobile network and it still is. Its network coverage and mobile internet ae unparalleled to any other network provider.
And lastly the CSR activities which ABG has been doing has and always will be a play vital role in everyone’s life. With its contribution to social and economic development, it has truly raised the country’s human development index.
Biggest Challenge I have overcame in my life
Life is full of ups and downs. Expecting your life to be free from hardships and troubles will be a fool’s work. Someday in each one of us is bound face some challenges which he or she would never have anticipated or would have even thought of it. But what someone does to overcome this challenge is what proves a man’s mettle. For any person the problem which he is facing at the moment will always be one of the greatest challenges he has ever faced. But life is full of surprises.
For me the greatest challenge in my life has been the demise of my mother. Losing a parent will always be the greatest crisis and challenge in anyone’s life. Suddenly I lost the purpose of my life. A young out-of-college fresh graduate never wants responsibility of the family on his shoulder, but this is what is life is. Life is brutal. I was a selfish human being, thinking only about myself and my career. I was psychologically depressed for about a year which was self-degrading. But I realised it’s my responsibility to lead my family out of it. I somehow gathered my wits meanwhile the depression and mood swings I was going through, to prepare for CAT and join MBA to change my life.
I’m not saying my situation was any different from anyone else, neither am I saying that I have tackled it well as far but for me this has been the greatest struggle in my life which I’ll have to carry out through my entire life. If I can connect with someone facing same challenge, my only advice to him would be that carry on with life. Life gives wounds, but time heals them. We must learn to live with them because life has to go on.
