With this, I would want to close with a quote from Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, the chairman of the group-
“Our mission has always been to be leaders in each of our businesses, which is one, two, or three.”
How Have You Made An Impact?
In my childhood, I had been an introverted individual. I always found huge reserves of strength within myself. That certainly doesn’t mean I disliked the company of others. It simply meant the source of wonder and elevation resided within me. The introverted disposition gave a very mild touch to my personality. However, as I broke away from the shells of home into the engineering college, I found my innocence and introversion vulnerable.
The extroverted world, with its biases against the introverts, weighed heavily upon me. I realized people were too outgoing and spontaneous. I always contemplated deeply before taking any decision. But the outer world largely relied on its instincts. I felt constant duress to mold myself differently, to change the softer part of my personality to the more rigorous one. However, in the process, I felt I was losing an essential part of myself. How could I abandon my carefulness, diligence, empathy, and thoughtfulness that defined me, at the caprices of the outside world?
The redemption came when I read the biographies of big industrialists and thinkers. I understood being too outgoing and extroverted isn’t the indispensable quality of an entrepreneur. Many renowned industrialists are actually introverts, with enormous work ethics and integrity. And, when mixed with the passion for the work, success is all the more guaranteed. It is their searing insight and well groomed perspective that makes them soar high.
I acquired confidence and came out of my self-created shell of doubtfulness, also fostered by the prejudices of the society we live in. I cracked CAT exam, made many new friends, got into a premium MBA college and it changed me so very much without me putting extraneous efforts to forcibly alter myself.
