With India’s millennial generation being on the forefront in this new age of entrepreneurship, this is a great opportunity to talk about the first global industrialist group of our country, The Aditya Birla Group. The group’s global expanse ranges across 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees worldwide and a legacy of 162 years. The group is actively involved in viscose staple fibre, cement, branded apparel, financial services, telecom, and IT services. I’ve grown up using a lot of products and services provided by ABG but this is the first time I’ve come to realise about it’s impact when I thought about it consciously. The Hindalco fresh wraps (aluminium foils) that I’ve been using throughout my life to keep food fresh and warm is manufactured by ABG. Most of my fashion apparels come from Pantaloons which made me truly believe in #StyleYourChange and transformed me and boosted my fashion quotient. Also, one of my favourite advertisements in my childhood used to be the Birla Cement ad; which currently known as Ultratech Cement is the largest manufacturer of cement in India. It’s truly as the brand says, “The Engineer’s Choice” that empowers millions of infrastructures worldwide. Another prominent service I’ve used from the ABG is the Birla Sun Life Wealth Assure plan, which I consider my best investment in myself till date. While it is seemingly impossible to make an exhaustive list of all the things that connect me to the ABG but I would say, it has been an inherent part of my household and will continue to be a pioneer in making India a Global Industrial Hub.
“Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” this quote from Joshua J. Marine is the mantra that I’ve followed throughout my life. So, essentially I’ve evolved myself into accepting every challenge that life throws my way. I’ve been an ardently religious and spiritual person, so I am a strong believer of “Karma”. This gives me an eternal strength to fight back whenever I’m in my low phase. It was the time when I was about to graduate in a year, I had a bike accident which badly injured me. The critical time when everyone else was preparing for the placements and I was bedridden for 2 weeks as I had a flexor carpi radials (wrist) surgery. This affected me badly and I was losing my patience, I also had to complete the pending assignments and term work or I would have lost my year and a golden career opportunity. Once I had my parents support and motivation, I was back to my senses and I knew that I had to study optimally now. So, with the help of Google I found a very interesting mind maps based learning technique which enhanced my learning ability. I learned the technical subjects in the timespan that was remaining. Finally I landed up in TCS as a DevOps Engineer, learned a lot of different automation and scripting technologies and discovered that I’ve a lot more to offer than only technical skills. Then after 2 years, finally I had to make the biggest decision of my life of choosing my PG over my secured job. I truly believe “The only impossible journey is the one that you never begin.”, so I decided not to hold myself back. “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” I’ve just taken my first step now towards success!
