Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life
“Believe in something big. Your life is worth a noble motive.”- Walter Anderson.
Founded in the year 1857, Aditya Birla Group is one of the top Indian multinational conglomerates which has indeed made it big. The conglomerate consists of a vast number of businesses including cement, metals, carbon black, textiles, fabrics, telecom and financial services etc. With such a vast array of products and services, it is almost impossible not to come across at least one of the products manufactured by this huge company. If not through firsthand experience at least in some indirect way. The company has also made great impacts on the social and economic conditions of the weaker sections of the society, by setting up hospitals, schools, medical camps etc. as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
In my personal life I can think of several products of ABG which I have listed below, that I have made use of and in some cases even couldn’t do without. To start with are some of the famous fashion brands like Allen Solly, Forever 21, pantaloons & Van Heusen, without which my wardrobe would simply not be complete. Besides this is ABG’s telecom operator ‘Idea’ which on 31st August 2018 merged with Vodafone to become the largest telecom company in India which provides us with uninterrupted 4G internet without which we cannot survive, besides other benefits like talk time, SMSs etc. Another product of this company is the UltraTech cement that was not only used in the construction my own house but which is also widely used for various constructions.
How did I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far
Challenges are a part of everyone’s life, and living through these makes us stronger and give us something to compare the good times with. It helps us realise our capabilities and potential as ever problem has a solution, it is up to us to figure out how to tackle it and thrive. The biggest challenge I faced so far was during my industrial training. As a part of my graduation course, I did a 4 months internship at Goa Marriott Resort & Spa and during this period I found myself struggling to juggle between work, that took up most of my time and my personal life. As I was staying alone at that time I had to cook, shop and do all other chores myself, which I was accustomed to do on a regular college day. But once I started my internship, I had to do shifts that were sometime 12 hours a day and very exhausting. There were a couple of occasions where I almost wanted to give up since it was taking a toll on my health, both physically and mentally. Despite this my determination and will power to compete what I had started and achieve my goals, kept me going and I kept pushing myself.
Eventually I got a hang of it and now looking back on it, I feel proud of myself and feel motivated to face any challenges that life has in store for me. And though this was a minor challenge it thought me a valuable lesson that life is made of all these little experiences, good and bad and no matter how bad a situation may seem to be at the time, it always gets better and we just have to keep the faith.
