Challenges are meant to be overtaken.
Right from my childhood, communication skill was my Achilles heel. Hesitation to speak in front of a large crowd would make me perspire like hell.
I still remember how this gnarly task knocked on my door with a job to present news during one morning prayer in my school. At the end of it, a teacher came and announced that “I don’t want that boy”, referring to me, “to say news ever again”. I was shattered from inside and embarrassed.
But, during my college days I gathered all my courage to participate in a debate competition to overcome this blemish in my uninterrupted trajectory. To my surprise, I won the competition and I had my first victory as a David vs this Goliath of weakness.
In my last job as a faculty, I had to teach and a teacher needs to communicate well to impart his/her knowledge. So, I started practicing in front of my parents and friends. Now, this job of teaching was to be done to help underprivileged students in getting them jobs. So, naturally the task was huge and difficult.
But adversity is like the sword of Damocles, it might make you stronger or kill you. I chose the former.
I taught mathematics and logical reasoning to a crowd of more than 500 engineering students across 4 different states for a government project. I had to adapt myself to the tune of students so that I utilize my maximum potential for their exponential learning.
After the completion of this project, I was proud to make a social impact that I’m going to cherish for my whole life.
How ABG has affected my life?
A conglomerate that needs no introduction. A group that has lived by its mission to provide superior values to customers and society at large through the numerous brands it encompasses.
But, for me, personally, it has been an integral part in my life.
UltraTech cement, the largest cement company in India, solidified the base of my first home. As the company says “ChanceNaLoUltraTechLo”, so it was a natural choice for me.
Now, Aditya Birla Fashion Retail brands like Louis Philippe, Pantaloons, Van Heusen etc have formed a circle of utmost importance in my life.
Every type of cloth that I wear has a mix of Aditya Birla brand in it.
Here, I would talk about Van Heusen suits. I bought a suit of this particular brand before appearing for my dream college’s interview. Now this clothing provided with the first impression that must have lasted in the interviewer’s mind because I cleared my interview. This suit had the panache, that chutzpah, which gave inner confidence and motivated me to speak freely.
My first stint with a mobile network was in the form of Idea Cellular sim. The connectivity and the seamless experience it provided was awesome. I still use Vodafone Idea sim and it helps in connecting with my family and friends.
