Being born into a well-to-do family, I have been blessed enough to lead a comfortable life. But in 2018, the Kerala floods changed my perception towards life and made me realize what I can do for the less privileged ones. Almost a year back, while I was in Kerala for my vacations, the dreadful floods hit Kerala and there was chaos and havoc all around. Although my family was fortunate enough not to get affected, it did not stop me from reaching out to the unfortunate ones. The first thing I did was to go the collection points, with few other people and distributed necessities like food, water and clothing to the rehabilitation camps where the people who had been evacuated from their homes were staying. It was during this time, when I witnessed the plight of the people, I realized how fortunate I was and how much I as an individual is capable of creating an impact on the lives of other people in the society. This incident not only changed my views but also inspired me to bring a change and do my best for the less privileged ones. Therefore my aim is to not only get a well respected job, but at the same time also volunteer a portion of my earnings, energy and time in making a positive influence in the lives of other people.
