Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
Aditya Birla Group. The name rings, not just one, but a lot of bells. The name instills pride in us Indians. The name takes us back to our childhood, for we have heard this name since then. The multinational conglomerate has touched a lot of lives, and still does. With every sunrise, we see Aditya Birla Group touching new heights and making positive changes in the lives of more than 120,000 of its employees as well as millions of Indians.
Whenever Aditya Birla Group is mentioned, the first thing that comes to my mind is my home. It was in the summer of 2004 that my father got a contractor to build our home. I remember the unloading of hundreds of Ultratech Cement sacks. The workers used to tear open the bags every day, mix it with sand and water and ready it to be applied. Slowly and gradually, the walls rose. Next came the roof. There was a lot of bustle on the roof-day. A big machine had been bought in to mix the concrete and lift it up to the first floor. Everything was done by the evening. A week later, we walked into our home, though not furnished yet.
The presence of Aditya Birla Group isn’t just confined to that. We actively buy our clothes from Pantaloons. My father has countless number of shirts from Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England and Louis Philippe. My sister gets all her apparel from Forever 21. That’s how deeply the home grown multinational has impacted our lives.
Aditya Birla Group is omnipresent, and it keeps on reaching new heights and making us proud.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?
I’m a person who is driven by goals. I achieve one, and move to the next one. That’s what has kept me going all these years. I must admit, there have been tough challenges till now, but getting into IIM Kashipur has been the toughest till now.
As a kid, I always wanted to make a lot of money and buy a muscle car. I was told that getting an MBA degree would fetch me anything I want. Putting my childish dreams before everything else, I made up my mind for MBA.
Things were easy in school, and it got a bit challenging in college. There was a lot of work, and so less time. Still, I could manage to find time to play lawn tennis and badminton. Slowly, it became a habit and life started to seem pretty easy. But I had not forgotten my dream, and I just had to pursue MBA. It was the last year in my college. All my friends had left for their internships in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. I chose to stay back and prepare for CAT, which turned out to be the best decision. I had to manage my Internal Project Based Internship, as well as my CAT preparations. There were days when I couldn’t sleep. That too, in an almost empty hostel, and the monotonous mood, it was getting harder day by day. But I never gave up on my dreams.
When I walked into IIM Kashipur, I knew all my hard work had yielded and I was ecstatic. For now, I’m looking forward to that muscle car, or maybe I could a Tesla even.
