There are some things in our lives- people, places, privileges- that have had such a constant yet subtle presence that most of us would only notice their absence. Aditya Birla Group has played such a role in my life. The lunch I pack with me in the morning, the smartphone that is simply essential, the good-old paper I write on or the formals that I have worn on so many important occasions, in all these things, ABG has contributed. The train journeys, the road trips, or the nostalgia evoking jingle of Idea, in all these moments and memories, ABG has been there making all of these experiences possible.
It is hard to imagine that my quality and way of life would have been the same had ABG not existed and grown the way it has. Aditya Birla Group has put India on the map. It has shown the path for achieving growth without leaving people behind. In fact it is setting the very trend for humanistic leadership and a culture that recognises individuals.
The kind of self-driven initiatives they have taken in healthcare and education, the two most critical areas that require attention in our country, leaves no doubt about ABG’s intent to create long lasting impact. The change is not limited; all efforts are being made to make sustainability a way of doing business.
How I have overcome challenges in life so far.
When I cleared the NTSE exam in ninth grade, it was the first distinguishing academic achievement of my life. But it is significant for me because it established the way I approach challenges to this day. When I had started preparing, I had decided to give my best as not many of my peers were going to a coaching class at that time. It really made me realise that we are capable of understanding and doing much more than what we are told, and also that with genuine consistent effort, I could achieve almost anything. This experience truly strengthened my self-belief and perseverance.
Trusting myself to do new things and putting in the amount of effort with which I am satisfied is what challenges me. I have learnt to overcome this challenge by saying yes to the very things I want to desperately run away from. And once I accept responsibility for something, I always put in my best work. What this gives me is self-belief and a sense of accomplishment simply by having the courage to accept the challenge.
