Aditya Birla group, an Indian conglomerate with presence in 35 countries, more than 120,000 employees and business interests in products like viscose staple fiber, metals, cement, viscose filament yarn, branded apparel, carbonblack, chemicals, fertilisers, insulators, financial services, telecom, BPO and IT services, has touched some nook or corner of our day-to-day lives in some way or the other.

It has played a significant role in my life as well. From my tiny aluminium kitchen set during childhood to my first business suit from Van Heusen, ABG has marked its presence in each and every aspect of my life.

It seems like yesterday, when my family was discussing the outline for our new house with the architect and there was a discussion over the brand of cement to choose. I still remember my grandfather being adamant about going for Ultra Tech Cement which my family ultimately chose as this choice was also backed by the assurance given by the architect. Over all these years, ABG has been successful in delivering its promise of building a ‘beautiful home’ where I have spent years of perfect happiness.

ABG has provided me a worldlier picture of my role model- my dad. It has given me several small life moments to bond over with him. Be it selection of his wardrobe from the house of Peter England or to choose a gift apparel for my mother from Pantaloons or Forever 21-brands she swears by.

ABG has been with me throughout my ups and downs of life in the form of my cellular network-My Idea. It has never given me a chance to regret my decision to choose Idea over all other cellular networks available. Being far away from home feeling homesick, it has always connected me to my family back home within a blink of the eye.

On the whole, ABG became a part of my family gradually and it holds an irreplaceable and irrevocable position as it brings blithe in little happenings of life and makes it more happening.

Because its worth taking that chance! - Akanksha Goyal, NMIMS, Mumbai.

I believe that challenges are what make interesting, and overcoming them is what makes it meaningful. It takes me back to the time when I had no idea where I was heading in my life after a drastic failure in the civil services examination. Everything suddenly came to a halt with very grey future career opportunities.

It became difficult to face my parents, peers, relatives, friends and most importantly MYSELF. One part of my mind goaded me to prepare for management entrance exams, while other deterred by reminding me how bad I was with numbers. Therefore, I had two major challenges in front of me. One, to convince my parents who were somewhat planning to get me married, to give me another chance. Two, to overcome my fear of mathematics in order to secure my seat in one of the best b-schools in the country.

At first, it was very difficult to assure my parents that I won’t emerge as a failure again, but eventually they came along and gave me another year to prove myself. Next thing was to prepare for the exams unsparingly as a lot was at stake and only 4 months were left for the entrances to start. These four months gave me a tinge of what life is all about, 12-14 hours of consistent efforts each day brought a little change each day. A bad mock test score was enough to ruin the motivation for the entire day and a good mock score would bring loads of hope over the next few days. There were days of continuous self loathing with the only motivation being the continuous reminder of my past failures but eventually, I had to recollect  myself. What kept me going was my motivation mantra "Har Maidan Fateh" and my antidepressant- My dog Oreo.

It took every bit of my potential, hard work and dedication to achieve what I aspired for. I was successful in changing my tag of ‘a failure’ and ultimately got admitted into Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. Now I can proudly say- It's Worth it!
