Aditya Birla Group touches all the aspects of my life in every way possible. We are surrounded by its brands and products which encompass everything from real estate to telecom. The Group is built on a strong foundation of stakeholder value creation. With over seven decades of responsible business practices, they have grown into a global powerhouse in a wide range of sectors – metals, textiles, carbon black, telecom and cement. Today, over 50% of Group revenues flow from overseas operations that span 34 countries in North and South America, Africa and Asia. The Group's roots can be traced back over 150 years to the 19th century. The flagship company Grasim, established in post-independence India in 1947, was one of the first Indian businesses to set up international operations. It is truly a hallmark of Indian prowess and development over the past seven decades.

Importance of Leadership is paramount in the steering such a vast business and that is the foundation of success for Aditya Birla Group. An enduring passion for work, entrepreneurial spirit, and high ethical standards are the ethos of the leadership team. Aligned with the Aditya Birla Group’s vision to be a premium global conglomerate, the leadership team has been critical in helping expand the Group’s footprint and to secure numero uno status in many of its businesses.

Employees are the most valuable assets for the success of any business and ABG believes in nurturing their biggest asset –  people. It was named the AON best employer in India for 2018 – the 3rd time over the last 7 years. The Group ranked 4th in the world and 1st in Asia Pacific in the 'Top Companies for Leaders' study 2011, conducted by Aon Hewitt, Fortune Magazine and RBL.

Apart from the business ABG has been exemplary in corporate social responsibility and worked for various issues like polio vaccination, free health checkup camps in villages and hospitals built, setting up 4500 women empowerment groups and 1000 biogas plants. The company has risen up to the challenges and have maintained a competitive position in the market. I take inspiration from them and have been learning from the difficult situations in my life facing them with courage and determination. Since childhood, I have been not only good at academics but also at the extra-curricular activities. It was difficult because the financial situation of our family was not very good. But I didn’t lose hope and my aspirations and worked to excel in every field. Recently, I completed my summer internship in the supply chain domain. Being from a computer science background, everything was very different and the setup was completely different. The time was less and the problem that I had to solve was challenging. I adapted quickly, tried to ask the right questions and made the best out of my time. I always kept my optimism and looked at everything with a positive attitude. I believe that with my confidence, values, and outlook towards life, I can face all the upcoming challenges as well. Success and failure both are a part of life but what you learn from them and how you move past is what is more meaningful for me. And I believe that ABG has the same values and have been successful in doing that to the maximum extent. They are really working to up bring the lower strata of India, which is largely neglected. That shows true leadership and sense of responsibility and that is the reason that ABG is big in India and in the life of every Indian including me.
