“Success is not measured in the number of dollars you make, but the number of lives you impact

The above quote encapsulates the journey of Aditya Birla Group(ABG).

In everyday routine, meeting the necessities of life is itself a challenge for many and one entity that comes to my mind, to aid in our endeavors is ABG. Aditya Birla Group, founded by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla in 1857 operating in 35 countries is a premium global conglomerate with a mission to create an impact.

One amongst the many who have been positively impacted by the work put in by the ABG is writing this article. Walking into those classy showrooms of Van Heusen, Peter England to deck up my wardrobe with stylish outfits for various occasions, has helped me create a panache of my own.

Not restricting it to the apparel industry, ABG has enriched my life with its telecom services by connecting me to my near & dear ones, sitting in the hostels of XIMB, IDEA cellular network has helped in maintaining my relations with my family members and friends.

Another important aspect of life touched by ABG is how it has become a banking point by introducing Aditya Birla Payments Bank, it has made my everyday life easier by managing my finances better with an added service of “bank from a phone”, without mobile data by dialing *400#.

Overcoming challenges to achieve my goals

Focus on the means, not the end is the only mantra I follow that pushes me to explore unchartered territories, which in turn helps me grow. Life is challenging, in fact, it's a mystery book revealing its pages one at a time. You just have to absorb and continue reading it.

In 2016, a new chapter opened, I was placed in Deloitte feeling proud about myself but fate had something else in store for me. Ten months into my time at Deloitte, my health started deteriorating and my skin problem, vitiligo, aggravated. During this period, I started contemplating whether I should continue with my job or quit. After discussing with my family & team, I decided to quit. Leaving Deloitte was never an easy decision as I was already managing a high-profile client, with opportunities aplenty but I had to prioritize my health.

Post leaving Deloitte, initial months were difficult to live by, but my mantra to always focus on the process and not the end helped me fight out my situation. Amidst all this chaos and ruckus, I started making plans for doing an MBA and that's where the process of MBA entrance exams preparation started. Soon after my recovery, I joined my family business with my MBA preparation going in tandem. All this took a year to settle and finally in 2019 things started shaping up, right from qualifying the entrance exams to clearing the interviews everything started going as per plan. Today, here I am writing this article from my hostel room at XIMB, India's finest B-school.

Now, when I sit back and introspect, I feel, the courage of not giving up and believing in the process, are the things that matter to achieve your dreams.
