Growing up when my house was being built, I saw my uncle picking up the UltraTech Cement, without a doubt. I could see the feeling of trust he had at that time. Honestly, it’s very difficult to map oneself to Brand Loyalty at such a young age. But when I grew up and was finally at an age when teenagers start picking up shopping stuff themselves, I found myself landed in Pantaloons. Its not only the plethora of the variety of stuff that I found there that mesmerized me but also the connect that I felt with the brand. The pace at which the store matches(rather transcends!) the fashion never misses to enthrall me a single time. It has been 6 years since then. And all these years, I have been I able to build a level of trust with Pantaloons. Within this time frame, I also made it a point to explore other products of Aditya Birla. Van Heusen is one brand that pops up in the head when I want to go for Business Formals.

Marathon from Faridkot!
I hail from a very small town, 44km far from Pakistan Border, meekly visible on the map of India, Faridkot, Punjab. Coming from a place which has limited opportunities and limited exposure, it is a marathon to be run to pursue one’s dreams.
I was 10 years old when one of my distant cousins from USA visited us. She was born and brought up in Delhi, later shifted to US for her grads and got settled there. That was the first time in my life when I realized how the place you are brought up at and the exposure you get at a young age is critical to establish yourself in your life. Since that day I started dreaming of a life that I heard of from her, that I saw of the bigshot corporates in movies, of the life that I fantasized in my head.
But dreams do not become reality through magic. The biggest challenge that I faced was to make the most of the limited opportunities that I had at that time. And the second challenge was to convince my family (i.e. society at large!) to let me go out of my home to realize my dreams and aspirations. My mother became my biggest support. She was there all the time to guide me, motivate me and challenge me to walk the extra mile. I took one step at a time. Connecting with the right people at the right time, choosing the right mentors and then doing my part.
Eventually I landed up in NIT Jalandhar, one of the best Engineering colleges in India. Being a staunch believer of continuous development, I gained vast interdisciplinary experience of corporate world with my 3 years of working at GE.
I strongly believe that optimism, the right attitude and the determination to follow one’s heart are the key to overcome any impediments and challenges.
