“Great businesses are never built on the quick sands of opportunism. I reiterate that, if living by our values means, perhaps growing at a pace slower than we would otherwise have liked, so be it. For us, leadership lies at the heart of knowing what we stand for.”

(Chairman, Aditya Birla Group)
Started in a small town of Pilani in Rajasthan, Aditya Birla Group today is one of India’s largest conglomerates serving value through their hard working, faithful and passionate hands. Right from buildings and structures I live in and see being built around that use UltraTech cement, to being the largest manufacturer of carbon black. From manufacturing non-ferrous metals to textiles. From famous fashion brands like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly and Van Heusen. Which I feel very comfortable to wear and had my first best purchasing experiences to the telecom services (Vodafone-idea) used so regularly day and night, their big presence is felt in almost every part of life.
They have enormous presence in each aspect but what makes it different is their care for customers and society at large beyond business with their consistent efforts of making their 5 values of integrity, commitment, passion, seamlessness and speed, their heartbeat of existence. This is what makes Aditya Birla Group big in my life.
“Our values provide us with our roots and they provide us with our wings”

A unique sense of owning something comes only when we have struggled for it and experienced each bit of it till end.
During graduation (physics hons.) I entered into a nonprofit organization, Rotract Himlayan (youth wing of Rotary International). They have many students working for a number of projects that the biggest challenge was to leave a mark upon it. I initially lost confidence seeing the huge different world. I had many difficulties adjusting to it and balancing physics. But then started to concentrate on my strengths, trying to do the work given with excellence and experiencing the most I can. I started by writing social feed for club, then poems and scripts for a play. Gradually started managing events and moved from imperfections to being near perfect. During the process I formed a good team and we wanted to make a theater club for ourselves. That period was the most struggling and challenging one as we were initially three people to lead this project and convince the board members to allow us to form a theater club. But then two of them left and the entire responsibility was on me to take it forward. On one side I had my physics practical’s on and other side was this big onus in which I had no prior experience. But I knew that my team trusts me and I have to do it. I had this intuition that it will work and I can do it. So, I went ahead though a little confused on how I’ll do it but then working hard each day. I woke up early to see some theater practices happening in university, learned from them whatever I can then go to physics department, complete practical’s and then preparing the plays for theatre club with team. And at night used to give information to board members on how much we have progressed and convince them to make theater club. At the end it was done and turned out to be the most favorite club for students. Finally, I was successful in leaving a mark upon this big organization.
