The Aditya Birla Group (ABG) is in the League of Fortune 500 companies. The Group is built on a strong foundation of stakeholder value creation. It has been transforming people’s lives in all the sectors that it has marked its presence in be it Financial services, Telecom, Cement, Chemicals, Banking, Education, Fashion and others.

The success of Aditya Birla Group can be attributed to the core values that it never lost sight of while on its road to success and its commitment towards giving back to the society that it is working in.

The Aditya Birla Group has contributed towards society in many ways. Some of them being:

ABG has contributed towards making this world a global village by connecting people across the world by providing them unlimited calling and data plans at affordable rates. After the merger between Idea Cellular and Vodafone India and thereby becoming a largest telecom company in terms of subscribers and revenue, it is also working towards building a better 4G and 5G coverage in the years to come.

Aditya Birla Group’s Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL) has also undertaken various programs to provide access to quality education in under-served areas near their sites, to create empowered future citizens and a skilled talent pool for the nation's long-term economic development, thereby contributing to the realization of sustainable development goals.

ABFRL has impacted my life as well. Pantaloons, Forever-21 and Allen Solly have always been my go-to retail outlets whenever I needed smart and business casuals or party wear clothes. I can’t imagine my life without these retail stores being there in the vicinity. Today, it has become a one stop shopping destination for my family and friends as well.

The biggest challenge I faced.

I faced my biggest challenge at workplace. During my initial days, soon after the training got completed, I was assigned a task. As I was new, I was also assigned a mentor for any help required. The tasks which were assigned to the new employees were not of high difficulty and less critical. But I was mistakenly assigned a critical task. My mentor was also on leave that day. So, I was all by myself with that task. Initially I got really scared and nervous as it was a critical task and any mistake in it would have led to severe consequences. As quality performance was something that our company promised to its clients, any laxity on that part could have been a hit on company’s reputation. I also tried getting that task reallocated to some senior, but it was of no use. Then ultimately, I pulled myself together and decided to work on it by myself with a little help from the seniors. I recalled everything I was taught in my training and executed the task with utmost care and attention. I had to stay 3 hours beyond my shift timings in order to finish the task but when it was done, the satisfaction and happiness I got knew no bounds.

The most important thing that I learned from this was that difficult situations always bring out the best in you. So, instead of shying away from challenges one should face them head on.

Challenges are meant to be met and overcome.
