Part A
Founded in 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla, Aditya Birla Group is one of the largest multinational conglomerate of India headquartered at Worli, Mumbai. Operating in about 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees across, Aditya Birla Group is a leader in several sectors such as infrastructure, telecommunication, fashion and life style, life insurance, etc. Right since childhood, knowingly or unknowingly, we all have used some product of Aditya Birla group in our lives, like IDEA network, Van Heusen and Peter England etc. Being a civil engineer, I have closely seen the goodness and strength of ultra-tech cement and has been my choice in construction. And at personal level, Peter England has been a luck factor for me. I have a shirt of Peter England, that has been on me during every cherishable moment of my life for last 3 years. Be it falling in love, getting through entrance or getting a job, co-incidentally, this shirt has always been the part of celebration. Today this shirt is really special and I save it for special occasions. And so is ADITYA BIRLA GROUP.
Part B
After my PG, I was teaching in a university. I was a young teacher with good subject knowledge but with bad teaching skills. I was disheartened to know the fact that the students were not accepting me and my teaching methodology and after knowing the fact, to teach the same class with the same enthusiasm was a difficult job to do and the frustration was quite expressive in the class. It was becoming unbearable and then I decided to dive deep and face the problem. I started taking feedback every week and started rectifying the discussed problems. With time, I was surprised to see that the students were developing interest in my subject and slowly the class which used to go empty started to run full. Students started showing interest in the subject. I started taking feedbacks at regular interval so as to make the lectures more efficient. I openly accepted the advices by the students and in a very short span of time I was among the top 10 professors in terms of student feedback.
There were two things, that were worth learning. Firstly, there is nothing wrong in accepting the failures and learn from the mistakes done. This is the only way to grow and be better continuously. It is always wise to know the roots of the problem so as to eradicate it rather than to cover it. Secondly, No matter how small someone is, he/she still can teach u to be a better and excel in your field. Students though were supposed to learn from me, I realized that I learnt more from them in reality.
