"Hardwork can beat talent if talent isn't working hard enough" This quote is the most apt to describe my life journey which has taken me on a roller coaster ride and showed me both highs and lows. So, here I was, a kid with potential but with a laidback attitude and the being just decent enough used to be my life's mantra whereas I had been told again and again by my parents and teachers that I could be more than decent and excel at both academics and sports at the same time but the foolishness of childhood made me prioritize sports over academics at some times and even though I scored good marks, I knew deep in my heart that this isn't the best I can be and there is still improvement to be done and more hours to be put in whatever goals I set for myself. And with this feeling and belief, I started preparing for CAT 2017 and scored 90.08 percentile due to average performance in Quants and below average performance in Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning section but was it enough for me? No. I knew I could better my performance. So I started preparing for CAT 2018, and thus began my journey towards discipline and hardwork. I knew I had to develop a habit of reading to ace my Verbal Ability section and thus every morning, I forced myself to read Economic Times newspaper for 2 hours continuously even though at times I didn't want to but I knew that this is a journey that can only be completed through sheer hard work and discipline. I forced myself to sacrifice other things that I liked doing like playing cricket and watching movies and made CAT my sole aim for 1 year. So after a year of hardwork D-Day arrived and I scored 95.44 percentile overall in CAT 2018. Was I satisfied? No, because you should always hope for more but I was content in my heart that I had given my everything towards preparation and whatever mistakes I made on the test day were the only mistakes I made during the whole preparation. So that was my journey towards changing my attitude towards life and being more proactive in achieving my goals in life.
