MBA from IIT-Delhi ranks 3 in the NIRF ranking 2024 above IIM Calcutta and many top B-Schools in India. Studying a management course from IIT Delhi will cost you half of the IIMs and at the same time provide you with a good brand value and placements. IIT-Delhi provides two MBA programs- MBA (general) and MBA in Telecom. The RTI data for IIT-Delhi reveals that 7959 and 2079 candidates applied for the MBA and MBA telecom programs respectively highlighting the lesser competition. This blog highlights the RTI data for IIT Delhi’s MBA batch of 2024-26 focussing on the total candidates who applied, candidates who cleared cutoffs, minimum, and average CAT percentile, and the composite score of the interviewed candidates.

IIT-Delhi MBA RTI Data 2024: Key Highlights

  1. Of the candidates who applied for the MBA program about 28% of the students received the interview call. The percentage for telecom programs is about 32%.
  2. For general candidates, the lowest CAT percentile for which a male student got an interview call is 94.52 %ile, and for females, it is 88.14.
  3. For General candidates, the average CAT percentile for male and women candidates who were shortlisted for interview is 98.9 %ile and 97.61 percentile respectively.

The average CAT percentile of the male candidates who were called for an interview from the general category for the MBA program was 98.9 %ile. The same dropped to 97.61 for female general candidates. The lowest percentile for a general male candidate was 94.52 while for females it dropped to 88.14. IIT-Delhi’s selection criteria for the 2024-26 batch focussed on academic performance, work experience, and diversity apart from the CAT score which has the highest weightage of 60 marks. Academics (Bachelor’s, 10th, and 12th) each carried 7 marks and work experience. 6 marks each were awarded to the diversity factor and graduates from top colleges.
