Aditya Birla Group is a multinational conglomerate which touches many lives around the globe in its big way. Ranging from cement to fashion industry it is extravagant and flamboyant to all of its customers.
I still remember the first mobile number which my father used 9848582836 with Idea network. It had a huge impact on my father’s business. He not only used it to build a relationship with the customers but also to maintain good terms with the suppliers.
Being a fancy number, it was easy to remember it which had saved my life from getting missed in Tirupati’s crowd. I went to Tirupati along with my parents when I was studying 5th std, I saw a toy store and stood there which my parents didn’t notice and moved along. I realised that I lost my parents and got frightened but didn’t panic and start crying. I went up to the nearest help centre and told the security person that I have lost my parents. He asked me to tell my parents’ names and place I came from to make an announcement I told him the details along with the phone number. He called up to my parents and told them my whereabouts. Till date I remember that day as if it had happened yesterday, I am grateful to the Idea number which has saved me and reunited me with my family.
How did I overcome challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?
Aspiration to be a fore-runner is something which has always been my trait ever since my early days of schooling. This earned me the position of ‘School Captain’ during my class tenth. Having grown under a father who himself is an entrepreneur in the field of textiles, my childhood dreams were to follow his foot-steps and to expand what he had created.
Being one of the families which became victim to the market fluctuations around the native textile industry- I realized very early in my life that though experience matters, a formal business management education was the need of the hour in such cases of crisis. I saw my father’s small dynasty crumble around us and wanting to share the burden of the same first and foremost. Thus, I took to the immediate money earning option of engineering followed by a campus job placement – which could help my family revive financially. But the aspiration to be an entrepreneur myself never left the back of my mind and I was only waiting for the right moment to pursue it back. I felt pursuing MBA would help me widen my horizons.
