It was the month of November,2018 when I was going to write the Common Aptitude Test (CAT). I prepared for the test with great ambitions and a lot of perseverance. I was up for the task and ready to face the chin music.
But life had other plans. It knocked me out with such a force that I found it very hard to get up on my feet. I didn’t know how to overcome such a challenge and saw my life falling apart in front of my eyes. But, as they say, “Life is not about how many times you fall down. It’s about how many times you get up.”
There was no time to weep. I had another exam lined up a month after CAT. I analyzed my failure and came up with root of the problem: “Mind Stability”. My mind was very anxious and unstable when thrown in unchartered territories and hence I decided to keep my myself as calm and composed as possible.
I read about the remedial measures and with that started meditating, read several self-help books, autobiographies of several gurus and tried to implement those teachings in my personal life.
This “idea” changed my life and the transition of percentile from scoring 92.46 in CAT to 99.08 in XAT is the proof of that. Whenever I look back at the situation and see myself overcoming that, I realize how I made myself proud.
