The rising Sun of India, Aditya Birla Group holding strong to its core values- Integrity, Commitment, Passion, Seamlessness and Speed, has a wide spectrum of achievements to accolade for. As per the 2018 reports, it’s the third-largest private sector conglomerate. With “taking India to the world”, it globally creates opportunities, in a broad range of sectors; there is hardly anything left that needs to be covered. Starting from the infrastructural development to IT and to the financial services, ABG's wings are soaring high along with its mark as the most admired retailer in apparel.

ABG has a renowned image as the best employer and for empowering people. For me it was back in the early 2000s when my father served in Hindalco, I realized that ABG has got it all covered for us. Given my father’s lack of attention, being a workaholic would have made his family suffer. However, it was Hindalco that offered aid to his family through thick and thin. Be it accommodation, transportation, medical assistance or collaborating with schools for providing the best education in the city, also offering scholarships and employment. I witnessed this all as a schoolgirl. When I grew, I learned that it’s the Core Values to which ABG stands true. As it is for me, it is for a thousand others, empowering them, in different ways. Be it fashion apparel or financial services or a dream job, its offerings are widespread.

Today, having known the grand history and contribution of Aditya Birla Group, I continue to look up at it with admiration and awe just like that small girl did when she realized how Big ABG was for her and her family.

“Have convictions. Be friendly. Stick to your beliefs as they stick to theirs. Work as hard as they do.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

The above mentioned, strong, words are the cumulative summary of my life. I remember the time when I shifted to Mumbai for my first job. As fresh as morning dew, as novice as an undergrad from a small town can be. This amateur had her chest full of courage to build herself up on the new platform.

The job wasn’t easy, the schedule went twelve hours round the clock, at times more than that, I had to learn and apply the learning’s into the projects’ objectives. Liaison with on-shore for requirements, analysis, designing, verification, validation, implementation, it didn’t even end there, deployment procedure needed further assistance. I have to say it did take a toll on me. Given some time, I eventually became the “know-how” back there.

My analytical skills kept me in good stead at my job, but I felt a pressing need to pursue MBA. So, I did the best of the time I had post-work and at weekends. Unfortunately, I fell for severe health issues with the approaching dates of CAT. Knowing full well by now that its’ not how much you struggled, its’ the success that makes the count. “Did you achieve the objective?” is all one cares about.

I gathered myself up for the need of the hour, believing that more a warrior sweats in practice, the less he bleeds in war, I worked hard. I consulted my brother, already a master’s graduate, and practiced sums and passages overnights. I juggled constantly between work and study. I have to mention my manager was considerate, though only as long as the deliverables are green.

I had it in the back of my mind: I was not the only one going through this, there are thousands and I worked as hard as they did, maybe more. Sincerity and diligence paid off as here I am, Student of XIMB-BM batch 2019-2021, pursuing her Masters, standing by her beliefs, that there is no substitute for hard work.  #XIMB #ABGLPWooMe
