From becoming the largest market share holder in telecom industry to the largest market share holder in cement industry, no life in India has remained untouched by the business arms of Aditya Birla Group. Not only a brand, it is the name of trust for people of India, and abroad. With the aim of developed country, Aditya Birla Group is one of the largest conglomerates in India.

For me, it is the first choice for formal clothing. With brands like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, and Van Heusen under the name of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, a person rarely ever goes to other options in the market. I’ve always had faith in the quality of the clothing line. Due to such trust in the group name, when I started my journey of private investing, Aditya Birla Sun Life was my first preference for an Asset Management Company. With a wide range of products for variety of needs, delivering great returns, Aditya Birla Sunlife has been a reputed name in the Mutual Fund business for long.

Even after providing with the best of everything, Aditya Birla Group’s CSR activities are helping the needy in terms of their upliftment by providing with an opportunity to learn, and give them a level playing field to compete with others. Their contribution to infrastructure in education and healthcare sector is remarkable. With the mission, “To deliver superior value to our customers, shareholders, employees and society at large”, I believe every employee and organisation associated with them are on the right track to achieve this goal.

From business to social responsibility, Aditya Birla Group must have faced a number of problems from time to time. But it hasn’t stopped them from moving forward, and growing taller every day. Competition and obstacles are one force that drives someone on the path of success.

The most recent obstacle I faced was during a fest called “Panache”. It was a Commerce fest held at my college every year. I wasn’t directly linked with the Commerce society, but I was contacted by one of my friends who was organising a Business Quiz. The situation that arose was that his team was indulged in many activities related to the fest and were not giving much attention to his event.

He contacted me to help him organise the event by volunteering for fest. I agreed to his request and on Day 1, I realised the same issue that members were unwilling to prioritise this quiz. So, I started working with my friend, and asked other members to perform tasks that didn’t need their much time, and would assist us in working smoothly.

We divided the tasks on the basis of our strengths and started working. We worked for three days straight, day and night with wish to make it a memorable business quiz. Our aim was to make a quiz where everyone enjoys rather than being over-competitive.

On the quiz day, we didn’t get as many registrations as expected but we proceeded further in the manner we hoped for. But one incident that left a mark on me was the moment when Top 6 teams clapped for us, for the quiz we created.

There are two things I learnt from this experience. Firstly, there is no greater bliss than doing the work you fall in love with. Secondly, your hard work will definitely pay you in some way or the other.

No matter an individual or one of the largest business group, obstacles are faced by everyone, but how you come out of them is what defines you. #ABGLP #WooME #InsideIIM #IMINewDelhi
