I belong to Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh which is a small town and my family doesn’t believe in higher education for girls. Along with these restrictions, I have completed my graduation from Jaipur, after which I worked in a consulting firm for 1 year and now studying in Mumbai for MBA. Reaching to NMIMS was a roller coaster ride with a lot of ups and downs. Firstly, convincing parents for MBA program was hard as they had planned all the wedding things in a year or two. It took lot of talking and explaining on why I need to go for post-graduation but at the end they listened and agreed to the fact that education is utmost important. Secondly, preparing for entrance exams along with job was the toughest one. There were times when I used to break down looking at the mock test results or when I was not able to attend the coaching classes. It was difficult to prepare for exams for there was a little work life balance due to office but my peers helped me a lot to get over it and work hard for the dream that I had. I worked in weekdays and studied in weekends but still I was not satisfied with my performance. That is when I decided to leave my job in September as I had my exams starting in October. I was very clear in my mind that I had to clear one of the good B-school this year only and here I am studying in NMIMS, Mumbai and I feel proud of my journey.
Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
Be it kids or adults, everybody knows the name of Aditya Birla Group because it is a big part of our life. Going into my memory lanes, I still remember how I and my family could connect to Aditya Birla Group for a very long time as my grandfather started the retail business of UltraTech Cement which our family is into till now. I still remember my mother packing tasty food for me in the aluminium foil of FreshWrapp or me helping her to pack my father’s lunch in that foil. It has been a trusted brand for our whole family. Every person gets so excited for their first cell phone in childhood and I remember my excitement as well when my father handed me my personal cell phone with Idea SIM and I am using the same network till now. The only thing which can turn my mood from being sad to happy is shopping and I couldn’t thank enough the Aditya Birla Group for providing us with so many options. Among which I have been wearing Pantaloons brand since my childhood days as my mom loves to shop from there and the reason is the amazing variety. I also bought my first pair of full business formals from Allen Solly and I couldn’t explain how proud my parents were to see me in that suit. My father and my brother loves to shop from Van Heusen due to the rich quality clothes that they have to offer.
The way Aditya Birla group has been a big part of my life just leaves me in awe.
