Aditya Birla Group, operating in 36 countries and having more than 120,000 employees worldwide, is a global conglomerate in the real sense and it is also in the league of Fortune 500. Their products touch the lives of millions of people everyday across the world. ABG has attained leadership position in several businesses with products ranging across various sectors like cement, telecom, apparel, chemicals, fertilizers, financial services, etc. It’s difficult to find a person who hasn’t used any products of ABG, especially in India.

How ABG played an important part in my life:

The first mobile phone that I got, after moving out of my hometown for college education, had a SIM card of Idea in it. It kept me connected with my family at all times. While travelling, I could see some other networks not having a good connectivity, but Idea network always had a good coverage. Not only this the customer support is such supportive that they help you with even the smallest of doubts. I found this a great connection where I could find affordable plans with huge customer satisfaction. Now, fast forward to the last couple of months when I secured an admission for MBA, I need some formal attires which are an integral part of MBA life. I quickly went to a mall and had the options of choosing from various ABG brand apparels like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen and Peter England.

How I overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far:

After joining engineering, I realised that this is not something that I want to make a career in. However, I did finish my engineering and started looking for non-engineering job roles. I was lucky enough to find one soon in a large MNC. It is there where I started noticing the actual kind of work that I was actually interested in and how do I get there. And hence I decided to prepare for CAT and go for an MBA. But doing 13 hours of work including commute and studying for one of the most competitive exam in India wasn’t easy, which resulted in me getting a devastating score in CAT 2017. It is when I realised the kind of time and efforts I needed to put in in my preparation.

Thankfully, the efforts paid off and I got a much better score in CAT 2018, and landed up at one of the premier B-School, GIM.
