Birla Group - Changing Lives
Since very long I had been unknowingly associated with Aditya Birla Group. I have been a loyal customer of Idea network since I first had my personal cellphone. Being immature at the young age usually got us into trouble or lost in deserted areas, but the network never ditched us unlike other networks which were comparatively less efficient. I always used to admire the service being provided by the company. Also, my sister attended Ashok Hall Girls' Residential School of the Birla Group which is one of the best boarding schools in India. The quality of education was such that it set a benchmark for me because of which I couldn’t find a boarding school. There were many such examples of how I was associated with the group since very long.
With better access to internet during my graduation, I began reading about various things on Wikipedia for leisure. Reading about various companies, businessmen, their success as well as failure stories was also my area of interest. I was stunned to see the companies and products under Aditya Birla Group. Insurance, Financing, Chemicals, Technology, Fertilizers, Textiles, Aerospace, Ming, etc. are few of the many companies under the group. Many people might not know about all the companies are under the same group but companies like UltraTech cement, Pantaloons, Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, Ted Baker are some of the brands which people see everyday, in shopping malls, local markets, offices, etc. Its no joke to be the third-largest Indian private sector conglomerate and provide employment to around 120,000 people. The group knows how to make an impact on people with its diversified products and best in class products and services.
Started in the year 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla, the company has made its presence felt not only in the market but also in the people’s life. The entire Birla Group family has worked hard with sincerity, values and ethics. The group has always been into social work through the philanthropy, CSR initiatives, Sustainability, etc. It has also helped in achieve my goals in my life to some extent. The brands which are under the umbrella of Aditya Birla Group such as Louis Philippe, Peter England, which have always been a part of my wardrobe, has helped me feel better about myself, gave me confidence and highlighted my personal traits which maybe I couldn’t have done. During my job at Aon, I also learned about the group being the Winner of Aon best employer twice and the third time after I left my job. Apart from this, the group has also won multiple other awards in almost every sector. Getting to know about its achievements and the success stories of the group makes me inspire to follow the principles of the company and make a contribution to the world.
