Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
Aditya Birla Group is a visionary when it comes to propelling Indian Market into the world MNC picture. If one has realized they are everywhere. From construction material to the clothing and apparel, to the tires we use in our vehicles, to the mobile network, Aditya Birla has a huge impact on our day to day life. Aditya Birla has everything a Company wants to be.
My first encounter with Aditya Birla Group was Ultratech Cement. Being a civil engineering graduate, I have a soft corner towards infrastructure. It’s a dream of everyone to have a beautiful house, a house that can provide a strong foundation for my childhood to my career. Ultratech cement has helped us in all. I can always relate to its tagline “Build Beautiful”.
My second encounter was with its famous brand i.e Peter England. After its acquisition by ABG in 2000 and quickly went on to become India’s leading menswear, Peter England cater to every fashion occasion. They change there tagline according to fashion like I remember when I was a kid it used to be “Honest Shirt”, followed by “Honestly Impressive” and finally with “Beginning of Good Things”. I can correlate with “Beginning of Good Things” as I shopped my first business formals from Peter England.
Not only in business, but ABG is also actively contributing to the social and economic development of the communities in which they operate. ABG has 56 schools associated with it, with a total number of 46,500 students. Its contribution is not only in education but also in the health sector as they have helped to immunized 70 million children against polio. They are currently running 5000 medical camps and 20 hospitals. It empowered people by providing skill training for 95000 people.
ABG deserves a huge credit by helping people in every possible aspect.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambition in life so far?
Everyone faces challenges in their lives at one or another part of the time. The challenge which I faced was rooted in my childhood. There were always some constraints that kept me from interacting with many people. After that, I develop a fear while meeting a non-familiar person termed as Introvert.
Being an introvert all my life, I face several challenges in interacting with people, and also I was not able to communicate properly due to which I was always at a disadvantage over other people. It was really hard to overcome this challenge. I used to feel underconfident while working in a team. To overcome this challenge sports and my elder brother plays a major role.
During my early days, I used to play Football with my elder brother. The love which I have for football motivates me to work hard and provide an environment to work as a team. In a team, you meet people with different skills & traits from whom one can learn a lot by interacting with them. In sports, I meet people of different backgrounds from whom I learn a lot.
My elder brother helps a lot to overcome this issue. Being an Army Officer, he always remains strict on me over this issue. He always advised me to interact with his officers so that I gain some confidence. During the time of interviews for admissions in the top business school of the country, he was there to help me. To counter this challenge, he arranges some interviews with his senior officers and colleagues, I also attend various mock group discussion sessions, and read various books. Finally converted one of the business school that one aspires for.
Confronting challenges and overcoming has always provided me a sense of relief and boost up my confidence, and now I am ready to fight any challenge in my life.
