As once said by Bernice Johnson Reagon, “Life’s Challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they are supposed to help you discover who you are.”
In life we face various challenges, which only adds to the stepping stone which we take on our way to success.
As very well stated by someone, ‘Success is sweet but the secret is sweat.’ One of such challenges which had an immense transformation in my personality was during my school days. Being a shy person in school, I hardly explored the art of public speaking. However, when I got an opportunity to participate in the run for 'Master Bosco' in our class 12 farewell, the feeling of expressing myself in front of my school for one last time, motivated me to participate. To my surprise, not only did I perform well but also bagged the prestigious title. It was after this incident I realized that self-confidence is the key to success. Underestimating oneself is a doom for one's own talent. Post that experience, I have tried to grab every chance to participate in public speaking, which has added to my confidence and experience.
We face various challenges in our life and it may happen that we may not be able to complete that challenge successfully, but what is more important than completing that challenge is the learning which we take away in the process of completing the challenge.
Once, I was a part of a relay race team which was considered to be one of the strongest teams. During the race however, one of the members of our team stumbled and wasn’t able to reach his partner at the other end in the desired time. Seeing this, his partner was demotivated and thus we were not able to complete the race in a time which would make us win. Down the line, we learned from our loss that one must learn to rise when one falls; instead of feeling dejected and losing the hope to win it. Moreover, we reckoned that had the partner completed the race with utmost efforts, instead of being demotivated, we could have pulled off a narrow escape for the good.
Thus, the learning which I have had from the challenges which I have faced so far has been for the lifetime, which in a way has helped me to break out of the cocoon and shape my path in a particular way.
