CAT 2019 Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension: Analysis
24 questions from RCs were broken up into 4 RCs of 5 questions each, and 1 RC of 4 questions. Akin to Slot 1, CAT 2019 Slot 2 was trickier than that of last year’s CAT paper. To be specific, there were 2 RCs that were tough to comprehend and, therefore, tough to answer. This was one on British Colonialism and the one on Languages in Egypt.
A net correct of 24 - 26 questions should lead to a 99%ile in this section. Expect the cutoff of VARC to drop by about 8-10 marks, which is about 3-4 questions lesser than last year. And therefore, a 99%ile will be at 60 - 62 marks.
