Now that I am about to complete the first year at IIM Indore, I can proudly say "Been there, done that". Through this coveted space, I'd like to give the world a sneak peak into what goes on at IIM Indore. So, here it goes:
A study by the Economic Times has found that only 7% of India's B-school graduates are employable. While this may seem shocking at first, knowing that there are 6,000+ B-schools in India puts things in perspective. So yet once again, as over 2 lakh applicants battle it out over the CAT and the rigorous selection procedure of the IIMs, here’s exploring what makes life at an IIM different from other B-schools and how this shapes one for the journey ahead.
Greetings to all the Students of the MBA class of 2017-2019
With the whims and fancies of our likes and dislikes, a lot of us who end up in a Campus are similar in a way. If I talk about me, I met a lot who had spent a good amount of time questioning their decision to do an MBA. And surely all of us thought about the dream organisation we wanted to work in. We knew the rankings of IIMs and alike, we even knew what specialisation they were known for. But actual curriculum and pedagogy were something we had the least idea about. Somehow, we chose to be conveniently unaware of two years of rigorous training at the college. Almost everything that comes after Term 1 registration was a surprise.
It’s that time of the year again, when Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bengaluru celebrates the excellence of the students who have constantly been proving their mettle throughout the year. The event, Management Day 2017, has been scheduled for 1th March, 2017 at the college premises.
It is one of those places that has gained a popular mythical stature - people who have been here, know all about is harsh realities, along with its awesomeness, and the rest can be divided into two parts - one aspire to be here and the rest are either indifferent or despise its excesses it in all its glory. It's an early hour of the morning (or late hours of the night) when I have just started to write this vague and ambiguous piece, in the hopes that I will be able to get back to a part of myself that I lost in this maze.
