Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies recently organized a Fresher’s party for the new students of its PGDM batch. It was a fun filled affair that welcomed the new management aspirants into KIAMS fold and made them feel comfortable in the environment instantly. The theme of the party was ‘Creating a friendly relationship between seniors and juniors in a disciplined manner’ and the events of the evening lived up to the expectations.
The annual business fest of Goa Institute of Management, Samriddhi, came around this year with full throttle. There were 3 days full of competitions, workshops, speaker sessions and a conclave. The students of GIM decided on the theme being “Unbroken” to celebrate the spirit of never giving up, despite all odds. The speakers were impressed with the theme because the spirit of being unbroken is the most important and, often, the most underrated one. The various highlights of this year’s Samriddhi were as follows:

Well I’m going to be honest here. When I gave CAT, the only B-schools I had heard of were the IIMs. And I guess that’s only natural. What wouldn’t be natural would be me not hearing of the IIMs because let’s face it, we prefer brands. But call it fate, call it luck, call it my destiny, I landed up at SP Jain.
Getting into a reputed B School in many ways is a life altering event for any management graduate. Hence I had huge expectations from KIAMS and I have to say they have been fulfilled to a large extent. I also realize from the way things are going that by the time I complete the program I would have achieved everything I had hoped to and more.
The Cultural Committee of IIM Shillong is popularly known as the “Ambassador of Happiness”. Being a part of this 15 member committee, I can say with candour that the committee carries the responsibility to live up to its name and for pulling off a show which makes everyone feel inclusive and relaxed.
Here I was in the sweltering heat of Lucknow in a grand campus with buzzing first years all anxious to register themselves as students of this glorious institution called IIM Lucknow. We'd all heard innovative tales around why this place was called Hell. I imagined the heat was reason no.1 but I was soon to be proven wrong. There's no one thing that can summarize my first trimester at IIML rather a collage of memories which'll stay with my for the rest of my life. There has been learning abound through curriculum, professors, seniors, projects, surveys, alumni interactions, inter-section competitions, committees and what not. What IIML has really taught me is the importance of time, something that we thought we were so good at but then we were pushed and pushed a bit more and even further till the point where we realised what it actually meant.
