I never realized the impact of the Aditya Birla group, until only recently. Before joining IMT, I had been to the Pre-MBA Social 2018 event organized by Inside IIM where people from the ABG Leadership Program came to share their experience of pursuing an MBA and their life at ABG. It was at this event, where I came to know of the big part which ABG plays in our everyday life.

Aditya Birla Group has been a part of my life ever since I stepped out of my house and started living in a hostel. The first number I used as my personal number was a Vodafone sim. It was a unique experience and led to the start of personal independence and decision making process. The learning curve was flat to begin with but surely with time things changed and took a turn for the good. Not only this but Aditya Birla Group's Pantaloons has also been a part of my life. This goes back to 2004 when I was a 4th grade student. Having led most of my life in sub urban or remote areas I did not have much access to malls in my childhood. So in 2004 when I went for excursion with my friends and family to Kanpur we decided to go to Rave 3 mall and in that the first store we entered was Pantaloons. I still remember the yellow and blue striped t-shirt that I bought from there. Since then Pantaloons has regularly been among the shopping bags I have walked with through different walks of my life.

I would like to start by citing the recent change Aditya Birla Group has impacted with me with. It's the #filterthefuture campaign. This World Environment Day, Aditya Birla Group took a step towards cementing its commitment to sustainability by initiating conversations around our biggest fears about the environment, the air pollution. Aditya Birla Group has pledged to create artwork out of toxic air and to support the cause they have also planted over 1 million saplings across the group. The products by the group is being used by people for generations in the field of cement, fertilisers, financial services. Anything the people have ever needed, Aditya Birla Group has made it happen, be it the use of roads, living in buildings made by the biggest cement company in India. We name it, they do it.

Aditya Birla group is the company which comes to my mind when i think  about company which affected most in my life. My family’s first  experience mobile experience came with idea subscription. In my  childhood when i got lost and ended up somewhere, I don’t know what to  do. The people there helped by asking my parents phone number contacted  and i got reunited with parents thanks to idea phone number i  remembered. As i grew up it started to affect me more like when i grew  up my first formals in Louis Philippe, My first smart casuals experience  in Allen Solly and my go to clothing store for my remaining things is  pantaloons. The wrapper product for keeping my food hygiene and fresh.  The Ultratech cement used for your house construction. Aditya Birla has  affected me both directly and indirectly.

Sundays, back in my childhood used to be celebrated by going out to the mall - catching a movie or a tasty snack and obviously, shopping. My dad loved shopping at Van Heusen, Planet Fashion was my mom’s weakness and for me, it was Pantaloons. I simply loved pantaloons for the sheer variety and numbers of brands it offered. Back then, I was oblivious to the fact that there is an organization that acts as the backbone to my fun Sundays. As I grew up and started taking interest in the what, where and how of things, I realized how ABG is running the show. From realizing that ABG brings together not only the clothes that I wear, the streets I carelessly run on, the building that I live in, my appreciation for the brand exponentially increased with time.

ABG is a US$ 44.3 billion corporation, active in 14 industry sectors. With this amount of diversification, it is hard for anyone not to be affected by ABG in their life.
