Aditya Birla Group, a name which has crossed paths with every Indian at one or the other point of time, is a huge conglomerate which creates impact and adds value to our lives collectively. When I got admission in my dream college, NMIMS Mumbai, I was all ready to come to a new city with a bitter sweet mix of dreams and anxieties with me. I was aware of the fact that MBA life serves as a simulation of the corporate world, we are heading to. We have to act like managers before becoming the proficient ones and we have to work in teams and influence others to be an effective leader. In my opinion, attire is the most important part of this role because the attire forms the first and lasting impression on the audience. Hence, in order to prepare my suitcase for this new journey, I visited Planet Fashion store which is a multi-brand store which sells in-house brands such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, and Peter England and other branded apparel. I got all my requirements fulfilled just under one roof. Not only it provided me ample variety to choose from but also, I saved my time because otherwise, I have to visit different brand outlets for the same. Their staff was so courteous that they understood my requirements thoroughly and then provided me with options which seemed tailor-made for my requirements. I come from a small town in Chhattisgarh called ‘Bhatapara’. My uncle spent his entire life working in Ultratech Cement in Baloda Bazaar which is quite close to our home and have retired 3 months back. He was the only person in our family who ventured on his own and didn’t join our family business, which was very inspiring for me and my younger brother. His tenure at Ultratech changed him as a person. He wasn’t a typical Indian household uncle; he was someone we could have open ended discussions about anything under the sun. He was like a father figure to me and was the only one who supported me for pursuing higher studies when I was younger and still struggling to find my way in life. Had he not been a part of Aditya Birla Group in some way, I doubt I would have been where I am right now.

It was a bright Monday morning and I got up with a sense of determination and purpose. It was the day of my MBA interview in NMIMS, Mumbai and my goal seemed within my reach. I had to dress to impress and was meticulously combing through my wardrobe to pick the perfect outfit. After a lot of consideration, I picked my favourite light blue Allen Solly shirt and paired it with the classic Van Heusen black blazer and trousers. Professional and classy was the look I was going for and my outfit ensured I looked my best. Looking at the mirror, my confidence grew and I was filled with the hope of cracking my interview. I remembered the words “You dress for the job you want, not the job you have” and that’s exactly what I did. I was filled with feelings of excitement and nervousness was looking forward to the GD/PI. I left home feeling happy with my preparation and the confidence that I look my best. The interview went smooth sailing and I managed to get into one of the best MBA institutes. Confidence was an integral part of cracking the interview and my attire played an essential role in giving me the conviction of achieving my goal. Aditya Birla helped me on one of the most important day of my life to ensure I was dressed to the nines and gave me much needed confidence required to clear my interview. Believing in yourself helps you improve your spirit and confidence, this if what Aditya Birla helped me achieve.
