It was during my second year of work, when I realized I was really interested in Marketing and had to make a career out of it. Pursuing an MBA degree was one of the assured ways to help me in fulfilling my vision and focusing on high-value employment opportunities with great career prospects in top FMCG companies. I just had two months in hand to give my best shot at CAT, SNAP & NMAT to get into a premier business school.
With 35 months of work experience in the IT industry and a B.Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics in my portfolio, I was quite confident on the day of my IIM interview. Being a GEM (General Engineer Male), I was the society’s Adarsh Balak. I had followed my parents’ aspirations to the belief that there is nothing that would stop me from going to an IIM for my MBA degree. This was my second attempt at CAT, and 3rd interview call at an IIM, the other two being from my previous CAT attempts.
With 2 years of work experience and grit to pursue Masters in Business Administration so as to strive faster towards the goal of making a career in the managerial role, I arrived at the IIM Nagpur WAT/PI location in Bangalore city.
My best interview experience ever in my life was the IIM Bangalore Personal interview for PGP 2019 -21.
XLRI Interview Experience for Human Resource Management: -
I have been reading a lot about the break up of the Acads-WorkEx-Exam-GD-PI-WAT score for calculating a composite score to be given to determine if one has secured admission in a college or not. I feel these are pointless talks since it simply doesn't matter. One simple reason is you don't have control over the things you did in the past. Can you change your academics or per say CAT score? Obviously not!
Is a CAT score enough to get into a premier B-school? Is your curriculum vitae enough to land you at your dream job? If these are the questions that run through your mind, then the interview scenes are surely daunting you. So how can you make a mark in the interview arena?
