A European Treat to remember!

A European Treat to remember!

Student Exchange programs at the different B-Schools are an integral part of the whole experience that the 2-years of management degree offers. Besides the peer learning in terms of academics, these programs offer both the incoming students and the host school students to know a bit more about the culture of their classmates from the other side of the world. IIM Lucknow welcomes students from a diverse set of schools to its campus every year and as the term is nearing its end, the exchange students got together to give the hosts a flavor of their hospitality and their culture. The very jovial exchange students put together a sumptuous Euro Dinner and also organized a fun-filled Euro night which was a refreshing break for the students and faculty alike.

Battle of the Ping Pong Pundits at IIM Shillong

Battle of the Ping Pong Pundits at IIM Shillong

December 3rd, 2014: It seemed as though PGP students of IIM Shillong were waiting for the arrival of this day with more anticipation than that of the first day of placements. After several breath-taking matches that had been held throughout the course of the tournament, we were left with two deserving finalists. These two individuals had proven themselves to be the personification of dexterity with the paddle in hand. When our beloved Hostel Committee sent out the mail for the match between Vangal Srinath and Aditya Kansal, all of us, almost simultaneously, realized two things – firstly, that this match was going to be one for the ages and secondly, that this match would give the winning batch ultimate bragging rights.

Why can't we develop breakthrough drugs from India? Lessons from the Vertex Story

Why can't we develop breakthrough drugs from India? Lessons from the Vertex Story

Why can’t India create new breakthrough drugs? Or, at a broader level, what prevents India and Indian firms from undertaking radical innovation? These are questions that have been on my mind for several years. I tried to answer these questions at a system-level in my book - From Jugaad to Systematic Innovation: The Challenge for India. One of our doctoral students, Pavan Soni,  is currently engaged with these questions at the organizational level in his doctoral work on building capabilities for radical innovation in resource-scarce environments.

Summer Placements : IIM Calcutta – Class of 2014 -16

Summer Placements : IIM Calcutta – Class of 2014 -16

IIM Calcutta blazes away with another impressive year when it comes to Summer Placements for the junior batch. We have been covering Summer Placements at IIM C for 4 years now. It is amazing to see the consistency in bagging the top notch roles every year during summer internship hiring. Summer Internship hiring is more important at IIM Calcutta because most of the students in Consulting and many in banking get final offers soon after they return for the 2nd year to campus. This year the PPOs/PPIs have been raining across campuses but things are merrier at campuses like IIM Calcutta! Don't be surprised if almost 1/3rd of the batch gets offers just based on their summer internships. Based on the data below, the class of 2016 at Joka has got a terrific opportunity to give an extra-ordinary start to their career.
