November 5, 2012 - Yes, that was a day to cherish! That was when I wrote my CAT after three months of rigorous practice amid my work schedule as a IT Business Analyst for a credit rating agency.  I cherish this effort because there were a lot of sacrifices and a determined schedule with a work-life balance that went into it considering the fact that I prepared for five hours everyday on a weekday and even more on weekends.

So, my Cousin, now an IBS alumni got placed with a very decent package of 6 lacs per annum. Now, I know the sum is not insanely high but considering he was a fresher and has been an average student all his life, I consider this no less than a miracle. What about all these new crop of private institutes, like Amity IBS etc, who charge a hefty fees, but a good placement is guaranteed and even at par with the best colleges if you perform well in your college and pass out with high CGPA?

ISB is a place where you get to learn everyday not just inside the classroom but also outside. I learn something new every day - sometimes it’s about how a doctor handled multiple emergencies in a single night, how a soldier had to go to war at a days notice, an investment banker who made it big and a big shot who gave up a glorious job to teach and learn art. I am an electrical engineer and was always sure that I would never be interested in finance and investments. ISB changed the way I thought. I have had the privilege of being taught by excellent faculty from Ivy League B-schools all over the world. I turned from someone who hated finance and then in term 4 absolutely fell in love it.
