Today, we bring you the story of Sauhard Gupta, who won the Director's Medal at IIM Lucknow. We talk to Sauhard about what was his motivation behind joining MBA, how did he prepare for CAT, and his interview at IIM Lucknow. He also tells us about what motivated him to win this award at IIM L and gives his advice to the incoming batch of 2023 about the b-school life and academics. What happens when you get up one morning and decide you want to crack CAT? Be part of all the cool B-schools, draw heavy paychecks at the end of the month and live in a posh sea facing Marine Drive flat! Well, all that can come true, but only when you realize the hardwork and dedication that it needs at the very early stage- when you are deciding to go that route. Keshav Singh, a final year student, just like thousands other every year, thought let’s give CAT a try. Nahi hoga toh agle saal dekh lenge! With very little preparation and no guided pathway to take, Keshav did fail to convert CAT 2020. We asked Keshav to tell his story around his preparation, what worked, what did not and what are some things that aspirants like him should avoid before CAT 2021.
Aanchal graduated from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies with a degree in Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) - specialization in Finance. She has 2 years of work experience in Deal Advisory division with KPMG India. In this article, she lays out the detailed preparation strategy that helped her achieve 99.77%ile in CAT 2020 and subsequently helped her crack the Holy Trinity as a fresher. She had deferred her joining by 2 years, and will be a part of IIM Ahmedabad's cohort of 2023-25.

Ashish Verma is an engineering graduate from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), Delhi. He started preparing for the UPSC exams from his third year of engineering. After preparing for the UPSC for 4 years, he decided to move on to pursue an MBA. He scored 97.93 %ile in XAT 2021 and is all set to join XLRI Jamshedpur's coveted PGDM HRM programme in 2021! Ashish likes reading academic books, watching political or historical OTT based entertainment series, and teaching.
