Once you have taken the plunge and decided to pursue an MBA from abroad, you need to complete the basic requisites. One such mandatory step is taking one of the English language exams for testing your proficiency in the language. In fact, such exams are also required by many countries for granting work permits to outsiders. Here we take a look at the exams we, as non-native speakers of English, have to take in order to ‘prove’ our mettle. The most popular ones are TOEFL and IELTS. Before choosing one of the two, the first check-point should be to ascertain which of the two are accepted by the university you are targeting. While most institutes accept both, IELTS is more preferred by UK and Canada.
1. Green Campus: IIM Udaipur is first of the new IIMs to move to its permanent Campus of 300 acres, which is the biggest campus among all the IIMs. The overall design of the campus reflects the traditional fortress architecture that is a significant part of Rajasthan's history and culture. The IIM Udaipur’s Campus has been awarded GRIHA’s (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) 5 Star LD rating which is the highest level of rating for large developments.
Anna Shajee, a CAT 99.93 percentiler, and Yash Madhani, a CAT 99.96 percentiler, are students of IIM Indore. They both worked on their weak areas to perfect their CAT scores and ultimately aced the exam!
Highlights of Summer Placements 2018 -
All the major b-schools in India have established exchange programs with universities abroad. A fair mix of global perspective is hence available in Indian schools as well. This also gives a chance for us desi students to get a flavour of MBA-ing abroad, without having to go through the rigmarole of GMAT and TOEFL and the works.
One of the best ways to get a stint of the global curriculum in management is the student exchange programme conducted by major campuses in the country. Every autumn is the season of student exchange programmes, the time of the year when select few from the campus complete one semester abroad, truly widening the range of their experiences. Vaishali Sabherwal, was one of those fortunate to have gained a global perspective into their courses. Vaishali went on an exchange programme to Neoma Business School in France. She is here to share her life and times while on the exchange programme.
