Our First Class - IIM Raipur
It was 9:30:00 when he entered the classroom. The first thing that he did was lock the door behind him, giving us our first and possibly the most important lesson – punctuality. Nobody was allowed inside the class after 9:30:00. It was clear. Citing shlokas from the Bhagwat Geeta, Professor P.R.S. Sharma introduced himself in the most uncanny fashion imaginable. A bit surprised at this, but still very excited, the 60 odd students greeted their guru as he cut the red ribbons to their 2-year journey at the Indian Institute Of Management, Raipur.

Of Clubs, Committees And Commotion – POR Hunt At B-Schools!
I peer through the window at the pitch-black night. It has started to drizzle, and the city far away has retired for the day. The clock strikes 12 and the campus begins its hustle. I smile to myself, overcome with nostalgia, looking at the new batch, running up and down the stairs, for the hunt has begun. It’s now or never, when it comes to those three letters – POR.

Why And How I Chose My Campus - IIM Raipur
I was happy and on cloud 9, getting calls from multiple new IIMs, however, this is was where it all started! It was just the beginning of a whole new era. Gathering information, insights of the IIM’s about their culture, working mechanism, events held, student exchange programs and obviously campus life was needed. After writing down all the pros and cons, I finally chose IIM Raipur.

IIM Raipur - Home Away From Home
All throughout my engineering at VJTI, I had always dreamt of attending MBA at an IIM. In May 2018, I had calls from all "new IIMs" (as they are fondly called) and other B schools; I decided to join IIM Raipur. There were only two reasons initially to join IIM Raipur - The first being placements. In terms of campus placements, IIM Raipur has gradually grown and is at par with other new IIMs, with many reputed names visiting campus for summer internships and final placements. Another reason was the Best Student Exchange Program amongst its peers. IIM Raipur is in partnership with 18 Premier business schools across the world for its student exchange program and has sent more than 50 outgoing students in an academic year.

Sejbahar, Raipur! A relatively small village and a place, where farming is the sole breadwinner for many, also houses one of the most prestigious management institutes in the country. The Indian Institute of Management, Raipur with it great pool of faculties, infrastructure, culture and talents sets itself apart. However, with many B-schools in the country, one cannot do anything but wonder - what makes this campus unique?
