The final placement report for XLRI Delhi-NCR’s inaugural batch (2020-22) has been released. The 71 students of XLRI Delhi’s first batch who were a part of the combined placement process achieved a 100% placement record. Aanya Wig is a recent graduate from Lady Sri Ram College for Women and is a SUSI scholar who was one of the four girls to represent India recently. She is co-founder of Girl Up Rise, an UN foundation collaboration to empower women across the world. A student-led organization, this venture was ideated in October 2019, with the single aim of changing the way women are perceived in society and inspiring the new generation of girls to be a force for gender equality and social change. A public speaker and a student of Human Rights and International Humanitarian & Refugee Laws, she is currently interning with UNESCO and believes in achieving gender equality. In this video, Aanya talks about her journey and her goal of achieving the same and talks about a few shifts in the workplaces that needs to take place for equality to prevail.
After being through a plethora of B-School interviews, the fretting before the interview gradually starts to fade away. It's like just another day, only with an interview in it. But that hot April day was different. It was my last interview of the season, but the feeling of nervousness felt as though it was my first one. And it was justified too. After all, it was supposed to decide whether I'll get to go to a place I wanted to the most. Being a mechanical engineer, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) was never unknown to me. Upon extensive research, I decided that the MBA equivalent, Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management (PGDIM) at NITIE, was the course for me. I had 20 months of work experience at an Indian IT giant during that time, with my academic profile being 93/86/68. Clearly, with not one of the best profiles, I started getting ready for the moments that could decide the fate of my career ahead. Putting on trousers instead of shorts for a change and a crisp pink shirt to go with them, I sat down at my table for the NITIE online personal interview. Here's what followed –
