Meet InsideIIM’s Best 30 - The Most Employable Graduates of The Class of 2019-21

January. New year. New hopes. New laurels. New awards! Meet InsideIIM's Best 30 for the class of 19-21! Drumroll please and all that! Yes, you heard it right. This year, we once again floated the best 30 survey across b-schools. Our goal? To recognise the most employable graduates that recruiters would be proud to collect! We once again asked them questions about their most selfless acts, their most debilitating experiences, how they handled conflicts, what do they excel at, how would they spend a corpus of 10 Mn USD, etc. Once again we got some beautiful answers and some d'uh ones. Conquering ones fears. Battling COVID 19 to successfully earn a PPO and get a job. Learning a new skill and getting out of ones' comfort zone. Fighting depression. Thus were born the Best 30 - The Most Employable Graduates of The Class of 2019-21. In this article, we bring you a list of all their stories. An institute known as the ‘place to be’ for HR aspirants in India, XLRI Jamshedpur has seen many successful stories in all these years. And making the saying of ‘XL Aaye Ho Toh Place Ho Hi Jaoge’ true, we spoke to two such XLRI HRM students about their B-school life, placements and overall learning they took back in the two years. Debayan Das mentioned about his process of cracking Amazon while Smriti Garg took us to her summer internship day when she cracked TAS and got a PPI later on. From Being Bottom 10 In Finance To Handling A Finance Heavy Project At BCG | Samarth, MDI Gurgaon, InsideIIM’s Best 30

Samarth Singh Gahlot did not really like finance. But he managed to work successfully as a consultant and landed a PPO with BCG post his summer internship. He also, interestingly, found reading and working with financial statements dreadfully boring and frightening. But now he trades in Futures & Options post investing his Stipend and receiving 82% returns. Then there’s the bit about him helping his family’s driver to set up a retirement home, financial plan and income source. Makes for very interesting reading - this story! Also the ability to learn and grow and contribute meaningfully and smartly to problems sees Samarth Singh Gahlot, MDI Gurgaon student on the list of InsideIIM’s Best 30 - one of India’s most employable graduates from the class of 2021! I Created A Blog On Aerospace Engineering In My IIT Days | Feroz, IIM C, InsideIIM’s Best 30

Feroz Baker was scared of getting into an IIT. He’d realised that IIT meant losing the “most intelligent,” “topper,” labels and competing with some of the best students in the country. But when it came to picking an engineering college of his choice, this (currently IIM C) student decided to let go of the comfortable and safe option of IIST and chose IIT Madras - a place where he would certainly not be the top dog. This attitude of competing with one's' betters and becoming better yourself is what landed Feroz a place on InsideIIM’s Best 30 - one of the most employable graduates from the class of 2021. I Co-Authored A Marketing Case To Be Published In Harvard Business Review | Niharika, IIM L, InsideIIM’s Best 30

Niharika was one of the lucky few who found her calling directly post graduation. She loved marketing and worked in B2B marketing, successfully climbing the corporate ladder to win accolades. But this is where Niharika’s story veers from the norm. On the cusp of getting a leadership position, Niharika decided to leave it all in order to crack the CAT and pursue an MBA.This IIM Lucknow student managed to intern with HUL and won a PPI with Colgate Palmolive in her first year! Sujith got an offer from New York University to pursue a Ph.D - Masters in Biology. A product of the famous IISc, Sujith knew the value and impact of such an offer. But he decided to turn it down. Why, you wonder? Because Sujith wanted to rather work on creating more opportunities for research right here at home in India. Which is why Sujith happily bid adieu to New York dreams and decided to pursue an MBA right here, from IIM B.
